Guaranteed none of these guys watched 5 minutes of a Cal game last year….. how can an “expert” opinion be solely based on watching highlight clips. Cal season ticket holder here - Jaylon is solid all the way around. He did not have a “green light” and just chuck up shots. Amazing feel for the game. Consistently made the correct basketball play even when defenses constantly focused on him. Played with passion and a true team leader. Please don’t prejudge this selection after listening to these fools… I mean… “experts”

Tyson seems solid at the 3 spot. I'm a cavs fan and I'm satisfied with this pick. He seems like a guy that can come into the 3 spot and contribute offense immediately. He also seems like he'll be able to create his own shots which is what we need.

I love this pick. He's almost 6'7" (and probably will be after his final growth year), he can rebound, he can handle the ball, he can facilitate, he can shoot the three, and he has a filled out NBA body so he can probably defend the larger wings. He just has to be able to "catch and shoot" and move without the ball. If he blossoms, he's the fifth starter who pulls things together. Definitely worth rolling the dice on. Anybody at 20 is a gamble, and I'd much rather see the Cavs go for a guy like this than some one whose ceiling is "limited role player."

Like Jaylen Brown in 2016 - analysts thought Brown was “too smart to play in the NBA.” Or many Boston fans couldn’t believe the Celtics “wasted a third round pick on some PAC 12 guy” & from Cal at that! …that history…

Jaylon Tyson is better than what these analysts are making him seem. Also, Kenny Atkinson is great at developing players.
@dex1lsp3 ай бұрын
Honestly, he's much better than they give him credit for. Sure, his earlier career was a mess, but it's what he did since then at Cal that counts. The way he ascended so quickly and remained consistent as a Bear is a very good sign. I think he showed us that he's ready to be drafted, and that there's a good chance he'll keep pushing his game to improve further as a pro. Even if he's not a regular starter right away, he will likely end up there in due time. He has a huge offensive and defensive upside and some real potential to catch on. I'm really interested to see how this unfolds . . .

These dudes are corny. Not a single person gave any semblance of analysis on Tyson's game. He honestly reminds me of a combination of Josh Hart and Caris Levert. A guy who can come off the bench and create his own offense like Levert, but with the hustle and mindset of a Hart. They essentially got a younger, cheaper version of Levert with higher potential to replace him.

Wondering if his defense will drastically improve if he more of a tertiary player. It is likely it will improve as he can expend more energy on D. I think as a positional pick, Filipowski would have been better and may even be a better player overall. But…, with two firsts (and low ones at that) you need to draft for potential and develop role players and possible starters. At best Tyson can replace LeVert and be a solid sixth man which isn’t bad at 20.
