In this episode of Know Your Rights, I talk about Stop and ID laws. There are many myths and misconceptions about Stop and ID laws, so I hope this video clears it up for people.
The short version of what I talk about in the video is that the police must have reasonable, articulable suspicion to detain you. Only after being legally detained, are you at least required to give the police your name. But the Supreme Court has not said if you must give more information and the law can vary by state to state.
