Cardas Clear Beyond VS Nordost Odin 1

Cardas sounds like music. Odin sounds like electronics.

The Odin is clearer, but the treble is a bit too pronounced and the sound stage seems flatter. The CCB has a fuller, richer, and larger soundstage with more air and sound more tactile and not as bright as the Odin 1. The Cardas Clear Beyond is clear but more organic sounding and not as artificial.

The Cardas Clear is my favorite. The singer's voice is more natural and the recording has more air. The trumpet is much clearer on the Cardas. The voice of the singer on the Odin 1 sounds weird as if she sung through a cornet. The Odin is not a bad interconnect, its just that the Cardas is better IMHO.

Yup big change. Extended mids and highs on Cardas. May overwhelm bass a little, tip the balance. It’s a personal preference at this point but the Cardas is more revealing.

I own other models from cardas and nordost.. and more or less its always the same cardas warmer fuller and smoother, nordost open detailed and more controlled bass.. i heard in this video demo too..

On my system, the Cardas seemed to loose the low end and some staging. The vocals and brass were clear and seemed to stand out more than the Nordost, however, I preferred the Nordost overall from what I was hearing. The Nordost seemed to have it all, and really filled the room from what I was hearing on my end. When you do the Pre-Amp shoot-out, PLEASE turn the lights up for a moment or two so we can see those in all their glory. Really looking forward to that.

I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed an improvement with Cardas newer cables. I have a pair of Golden Reference IC's. They're not current, but they were the best ones Cardas made when in production. Overall, I find it to be a very good sounding cable except in the high frequencies. There's that bit of roughness you get with most copper wires. So far, the only copper cables I've heard that don't have this issue are higher end AQ and Tara solid core designs. (I'm sure there's others, but I'm only going by the ones I own, or used myself.) I'm just wondering if Cardas has fixed this issue? I really like the pair I have but I can't use it as a permanent cable in my system.

On my system the Cardas was more pleasant to listen to. But, likely a mix or Nordost Odin on certain components and warmer Cardas Clear Beyond on others would yield an even better result. Would obviously have to try it to know for sure. On your/that setup, all Nordost would be not musical enough for me.

Another great video Jay! I cant justify how good each cable is through my phone. I would need to hear in the flesh as it where. After listening twice,both are beautiful but I could detect subtle differences though. Looking forward to the preamp shootout. Jay may I ask,do you physically own all this wonderful kit or is always on loan to demo for videos like this? I do hope I dont come across as impertenent. If so I do apologise. The Odins "get out of the way", nothing is "edited" - - the Cardas seem more focused but I didn't think I was getting everything in the recording, especially after hearing the Odins. If given a choice, I'm not sure which cable I'd want long term, I'd have to audition more - - amazing how both cables sound so different even over you tube - - thanks for the vid Jay.

The Nordost was flat and bright. It always put a high frequency noise over everything. The Cardas was a little muffled and had a much looser bass. I don't think I'd take either

Big difference: Nordost more forward, brighter, maybe a bit cooler. Cardas not as aggressive, warmer, more rounded.

Cardas had less ""écho"" in it, sounded more natural,the odin gave it almost a sens of added artifact? Impressive how not Being there but still Perceive the difference. Cardas sounds more relaxed
