The most unbelievable part of Mihirikula's story as written by Kalhana in the 11th century CE wasnt the weird distorted timeline. It was that the only source for some of the absurd claims about this Mihirikula character is an 11th Century AD work called "Rajatarangi" by a certain Kalhana. According to Kalhana, Mihirikula invaded as far as Sri Lanka, killed the SInhalese king, destroyed Chola navi, fought all the south Indian kings who tried to help Sinhala king etc. This huge incident wasnt mentioned anywhere in Sri Lanka (Which has multiple written chronicles) or South India (Has its own well establishes literary history). The most unbelievable part of this stiry was that according to Kalhana's story The Cholas and Sinhalese Kingdom were allied and that Mihirikulas army destroyed the Chola Navy when Cholas sent help to Sinhala King to fight off Mihirikula lol. Any one that has studied the history of South India should know how absurd this story is.

It is highly impossible that any caste could be pure. So,I request present generation not to be more favouratism or hatred towards any community. We should be proud of all the communities,kings dynasties for their cultural contributions. If we insult or denie the history of any communities,we can be traitors .

It is always about us vs them not about purity, certain communities have more hatred towards others though the nature of it varies greatly. This is sad reality but a reality all ppl with good heart must understand n move cautiously lest we loose everything.

One thing you have not addressed ,the defeat of mihirkula at the hands of narasimhagupta baladitya.There are several sources including chinese that say he was forced to retreat to gauda or to an aisland,later defeated and captured mihirkula and mihirkula was only let go at the intercession of narasimhaguptas mother.
@JayVardhanSingh
@JayVardhanSingh Жыл бұрын
I don't think that these stories are true. If you look at the inscriptional evidence there's not much evidence to corroborate these stories. Also one question which you should ask is that at this time you had the Maukharis in Ganga Valley and the Later Guptas in the Magadh region. How can the Gupta rulers who at this time had control of eastern Bihar and Bengal would able to launch such a campaign. As students of history, we should not take these details at face value. Another story comes from Rajatarangani related to Mihirakula. If you read that story you would know how true it is.
