An amazing singer sings and performs at another level, an amazing singer and amazing human being is down to earth and connects with their fans at an equal level. Last year I was driving listening to Chynna Phillips' show on Sirius XM and she told the story of a very distraught woman who was thinking of taking her life, who heard this song when it first was released, and she held on, and the song was the beginning of a complete life change for her. The woman wrote Chynna a very heartfelt letter which Chynna read on her show.

This song was recorded in 1989 but released in 1990. There was a period at the beginning of the 90s where the 80s style of production carried over for a little while. Anyway, they were considered girly pop but as a 36 year old man I proudly jam to this with no shame. Check out their song “Release Me” too.

There's that scene in Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle where this song comes on the car radio, and they both complain that it sucks, but nobody changes it, and then it cuts to the two of them a minute later both singing along at the top of their lungs and crying. That's the public sentiment on this song in a nutshell.

This is one of the songs I listen to every morning. I love it and these three women sing in unison and have amazing voices. Music was so much better back then because singers had talent and were professional. No autotune or lip syncing like today's music which is based on more the visual aspect of the individual rather of the talent of their voice!!!

I have heard from multiple sources over the years that there are many people who were in despair and were on the verge of suicide, but this song actually made them wait -- hold on one more day -- literally. For this reason, this song really chokes me up. Often that is all someone needs to hear because a person may not have anyone at all to say that to them like I didn't. Whenever this song plays my sister has flashbacks to hearing it played repeatedly through the bedroom wall. She says all she could hear was the beat and me caterwauling 'hold onnnnnnnn' over and over and over again! And I just sang along at the top of my voice once again. This entire album was everything in my late teens. Good times, great nostalgia

A BLAST FROM THE PAST!!! I use to be sooooo incredibly addicted to that beautiful song. I was in an abusive relationship (in more ways than one) & I use to listen to that song, over & over again, to try to PULL STRENGTH FROM IT, to leave the man I was w/at the time. Very powerful lyrics/very beautiful song! 👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

It was 1990 when it was released but they started recording in the summer of 1989. Others have already commented on who these gals parents were so certainly they had a leg up on making incredible music. Thanks for listening! Peace from SF

I was a teen in the 90s, and I hated high school and just my life in general. I had this song in one of my mix tapes (in a Walkman, of course) that I listened to every night before going to sleep. It just spoke to me then, and it's still a good message for me now.

It’s the song at the end of the movie Brides Maids. Great movie too. Well, I liked it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Girl anthem!!!! I believe the two dark haired girls are sisters (Wilson). The blonde (Philips) is married to one of the Baldwin brothers.

It is very possible that my friends and I are in the background in this video. We were there that day, in the crowd to the right, watching as these girls and a film crew were making their way down. We weren't sure what was going on, as we weren't up that close. I didn't think much about it until the video came out, and I realized that that was what had been happening that day!! Love the song and the group!!!
