If you want to prevent condensation with a full body water block, run the AC on the back of the card to lower total temperature deltas across the card. Also, invest in a dehumidifier. Condensation is based off two things: ambient temperature and humidity. You can greatly reduce condensation on the system if you run a dehumidifier close to it. I do this for my sub-ambient server, and it is 100% safe and stable.

Jo Jay. The air coming out of the AC is already "dried" because the water "drops out" in the AC cooler heat exchanger as the coldest spot. Thats why there is a plug somewhere on the lower part and/or it gets used on the "hot" part of the ac to help cooling by evaporating. So when the air gets out of the AC, everything afterwards means the air is already getting warmer and so "even more dry". Only point would be if you cool down the card with the ac way below room temp, then switch off gpu and remove the ac. Perhaps the backside of the card, but it should still be surrounded by a indirect "cloud" of warmed up ultradry air from the AC. Did you try spraywax (car shop) or conformal coating on your subroomtemperature-oc-gpus if you fear condensation ? Spraywax is great because you can easily reflow it again everywhere with a heatgun. if you need a plate, try aluminium, a hand drill and manual saw, we know you can do it.. or even wood (only the finest aged swamp oak, because of better sound) works just fine. I would really like to see a tool which includes the memory error correction rate happening. So people dont get all high on super oc-memory numbers and in reality lose speed.

@longjohn5264 жыл бұрын
@bruh meme Not true, they are designed for a specific temperature drop from ambient, usually around 20 F ...... If the air in is 70 then the air out is 50, if they air in is 80 then the air out is 60 ..... However there are limits since those small units use capillary tubes rather than an expansion valve so you aren't going to gain much below 60 in ..... better way is to lower the liquid temperature and the easiest way to do that would be misting the condenser coil ..... You can buy kits for home A/C condensers where you have tube that circles the top with little garden type misters every few inches that mist the coil whenever the unit turns on but the downside is getting a water supply to them, you either have to tie up your garden hose or plumb a line from inside the house that can be shut off and drained for winter so it doesn't burst from freezing ....

I want that 700W+ BIOS... The Asus Strix with its 480W should be enough. If I ever manage to get one. :{

How and where are they getting these super high bios? Or can we mod them again somehow like we used to?
@Aurummorituri4 жыл бұрын
@@TJ.85 Probably the Kingpin BIOS directly from EVGA or Kingpin himself. Not for us "plebs".

For the MSI Afterburner/Evga Precision X differences. I ran 5 runs each of Time Spy Extreme and Firestrike Extreme with the exact same overclocks on Afterburner and both the Steam and standalone versions of PX. The Steam version of PX was 200-300 points behind on average

Heres a little hint. Set your clocks then close the overclocking program since it uses gpu power each time it polls all the sensors. You gain about 450 closing percisionX and about 140 points closing afterburner. Change screen res to 1080 and disable gpu scaling. Close any thing else running in the background using the GPU you can see whats using it by calling nvidia-smi Then lastly for people that dont have there cards shunt modded. Nvidia used strange power limiters like 5.4% Overclocking software you can only move it too 5% so your missing out on the .4% You can set the full power limit in nvidia-smi using the -pl command.

The hilarious part is the new driver doesn't slow the card down, it just fixes the stability issue in the Windows driver, that is why the Linux driver did not need to be updated as it didn't have the error that caused crashes.

Handy tip @3:57 you can you click "CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE" for task manager, which is called 'three fingered salute' (don't know why read it online)

Dude Jay come on bud. This video might be a couple days behind but the new drivers do NOT slow your card down.

Go watch his last video 😉 Edit: I guess you aren't the only slow one here so I'll tl;dw it for everyone. The new drivers *do* slow your card down, not enough to matter in games but enough to matter in synthetic benchmarks, which is the focus of this video.

@@Manuel-xy7un Watch Jay's last video. They do slow the card down, just enough to improve stability. It's not enough to have an impact on gaming performance, which Jay also concluded, but it is enough to effect synthetic benchmarks which is the focus of this video. Just because the news drivers don't slow the card down enough to have an impact on gaming doesn't mean they don't slow the card down at all.

Idea for a temp solution as far as the holes just not lining up and attaching water block to the rectangular holes: mayhaps rubber fan screws? the tension would possibly keep it centered and thermal past should keep it from lifting.

"The 3090 is a useless card to gamers." But Jay, what if I want to take 3 x 4k monitors in portrait and side-by side them in a wrap around config and play MSFS 2020?
@OneDabMan4 жыл бұрын
if its possible you can have cold dry air from an AC based on the mode. That should solve your condensation issue and should give you more temp control. Though im not sure how much difference that would make to the temp youre trying to reduce. But it will fix condensation.

get a 3d printer and/or someone you now who has one. Create a bracket/adapter. Use a filament that can withstand high temps. Obviously machinging something would be better but 3d-printers are more obtainable/common (and quite cheap in this day and age). Best of luck to you!

Jay - Do a one pass water cooler, you should be able to pass up those with excessive hair and LN2 easily. It won't take that much water and you don't have to worry about condensation as much or at all.
