You know Jay hasn't watched any Optimum Tech when he is surprised that a FTW3 card fits in an SFF case. You can fit even bigger cards in the OG NR200 case with the horizontal orientation. Also there are sooooooo many SFF cases that can fit full size gpus nowadays. It's fun seeing the guy who makes the heaviest, biggest PCs around start to realize the appeal of SFF.

I have the original NR200 and it's genuinely my favorite case I've ever seen or built in. I love the layout on mine. I don't remember what you said about the original regarding layout but for me it was perfect. 280 rad and fans on the side (intake - mb temps are fine with the warm, not hot, air blowing towards the motherboard) and two exhaust fans on the top, ROG Strix 3090 in the bottom. Everything stays very well cooled and there's no vast empty space in the build. I hate empty space in computer builds.

For anymore considering buying that case: I've installed 2 slim 140mm intakes at the bottom. I'm running a 5600x (undervolted) and a 3080 (strix) in there with the glass panel. Nothing throttles, the GPU doesn't get hotter than 77°C. Without the fans, shit gets a bit toasty tho, so I would recommend to DEFINITELY install slim fans at the bottom.

Prefer the original NR200 personally. For me the selling point is being able to build without the need of a riser cable. I really like the option of a top mounted rad, but I agree with you that it's not particularly better than the original. @Gareth Tucker :D love the real American units bit. Gold! Being an engineer I'm fully conversant with the inch conversion. Yards.miles not so much, though I'm pretty sure a mile is 1.61 km. The old imperial units are terrible to use for engineering calculations. We covered some in uni and just painful compared to using SI. But for me that was along time ago now :D

I quite like it, but there are still some things that I don't like in comparison with the Thermaltake Core V21 I went with. - What I like better about mine, for one thing, is that it has the side and top filters magnetized on the outsides, like the bottom one of the CM. Some people might find that less appealing cosmetically, but I really like that it just filters the dust right at the outside and you can either just vacuum them off or grab the filters without removing any panels and clean them off somewhere else. - The front filter IS a foam one on the inside, unfortunately, but then that will just have to be cleaned as thoroughly less frequently. - Speaking of the front; It allows for 1x200mm or 2x140mm ones, or even radiators for that matter. - The side and top also allow for either 2x120 or 2x140. Except, while this case is almost a cube, unfortunately they didn't make it so you can go 4x120/140 on one side, but oh well. So yes, this one is larger, mostly wider, and it's not strictly an ITX-case but up to mATX. What's more is that you can turn the case in almost any orientation you'd like, as all the removable panels, including the bottom with the feet, are interchangeable. - So you can put the motherboard-tray in one of two vertical orientations, but you can also put it horizontally (test-bench-style), which also means you can have fans on the side blowing right onto the GPU, or you could even hang the entire system freaking upside-down if you really wanted to. - Yes, again, it's not as small, this CM-case could possible almost fit inside mine, though barely. But while that's a pretty cool package, I feel it's still very limiting in possibilities in terms of smaller cases. - There has yet something to be designed that will beat the Core V21 in my opinion, and not even Thermaltake's newer version of it fixes the shortcomings the older one has (it's basically a "reskin" of the same, but almost worse).

The original N200 did not have the rad+fans directly blow on top of the GPU, the GPU sits underneath. The only downside is that once you want to use the AIO and TG sidepanel that you couldnt like that. and it is not a neg pressure case. The ventilation slots on the bottom are exactly aligned in a way that a 120mm fan can be mounted there or 2 slime 120mm fans.

Would be better if they put front IO actually on the front of the case. Having it on top makes it inaccesible in some installations. Also having the AIO and PSU optional would be great. For example in my country right now the price for separate components (NR200P+AIO+PSU) is like 2/3 of the NR200P MAX price.

As an owner of a white NR200, I can vouch for the build quality. It was an absolute steal at $60. I have 2 thin 120mm fans in the bottom, 2 120mm fans in the side bracket, and 2 120mm fans in the top. Plenty of airflow.

If I had this case & a 3D printer, I'd install a pair of 120mm fans in the bottom, then produce a custom bracket that would fit into the holes of the fans in a double square shape that would offset the gap between the upward blowing fans & the bottom of the GPU, leaving space for the riser card. This bracket would also raise up along the back to further secure the GPU from moving around. Which should help reduce the amount of time that the GPU fans would spin.

I have the non-Max version of this case, about year old now. 2 slim Noctua chromemax fans on the bottom, AIO radiator mounted on the side with it's 2 fans, then 2 more Noctua full size fans on the top. so that's 6 fans, plus the 3 fans on the installed 3080. It never gets above 80 degrees. Usually quiet unless its a really demanding game. I wanted to try modding it to put a radiator at the top, I see Cooler Master listened and gave us this model to solve that issue.

Just a minor correction. The normal layout on the base nr200/nr200p does not hang the gpu from the top. The gpu plugs into the motherboards pcie slot with fans facing towards the bottom of the case. If you use a 2 slot gpu, you have room for a couple 120mm fans under the gpu to increase airflow to it. The optimal layout for the NR200 is a side mounted AIO, exhaust fans at the top and the gpu on the bottom of the case.

This case is an example of where the old blower fan founders cards are ideal like on the 1080s. It would get air from the mesh side panel and exit out back and not cook that case.

This might be a dumb question but I wondered why you would exaust (or push) hot air through the radiator ? I always presumed the principle of a radiator was to move cooler air through it to cool the liquid like in a car. I'm absolutely new to custom building ( its something I've always wanted to try ) so please forgive my ignorance :). Loving the channel thanks Jay and the team.

I like this case a lot, here are some wild ideas for mods (not sure if they are posible): 1.- Modify back panel to have the GPU sit as high as posible and add a flex raiser cable 2.- Try to accommodate a thin rad+fans on the bottom 3.- custom loop, may need barrow or other pump+block combo

You could get some low profile fans to stick in the bottom if you wanted more airflow. Noctua makes the AF12x15 PWM fans that are only 15mm thick instead of the more standard 25-27mm thickness.
