Assigned profiles have limited functionality for on-board profiles, to the point that it seems like false marketing to even say that on-board memory is a feature. tl;dr the FCC part 15 warning just means that if there's interference you can't go complaining to them, anyone can use the frequency, that's why they set it aside for public use Sooo, just for clarity, because its pretty obvious Jay doesn't know what FCC part 15 really means, the 2.4 GHz band is an unlicensed part of the radio frequency spectrum in the US. Which also means that you don't get exclusive use of that frequency, anyone can use it for free. That's why most devices operate at that frequency. On the other hand things like 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz are frequencies that are allocated to licensed users. Only the licensed users are allowed to use it. If someone unlicensed is using one of those licensed frequencies bad things can happen. As an example that means anyone can build a device (like a mouse, keyboard, or headset) that uses 2.4 GHz signals to operate (more or less). That also means that lot's of other devices are going to be using that same frequency. Those other devices could cause interference to whatever you built (like a mouse, keyboard, or headset). What the poorly worded part 15 thing is saying is that you can't go complaining to the FCC that other devices are causing interference. They have just as much right to use it as you do. On the other hand let's say you built a device that ran at 2.1 GHz. if you're someone like TMobile and those devices are causing interference, TMobile can go to the FCC and have you fined and get those devices confiscated. Because TMobile is a licensee of that frequency so they have exclusive rights to that frequency.

"ive spent too much on this keyboard" Apple: introducing the new apple monitor stand for 999
@guidomonto37424 жыл бұрын
@@Axiarus I just looked at Amazon and all the best rated pro stands are around only $50-100.
@ryanwangpiano4 жыл бұрын
@@guidomonto3742 Umm... you know "pro" is just a marketing thing. Most products marketed as "pro" are not actually pro. Furthermore, most real pro monitor stands are probably on the last page on Amazon due to the price tag and the low amount of pro users. Take the "Macbook pro" for example. It's labeled as "pro," but most models are not pro at all. Remember Radeon Pro graphics? (ex. Radeon Pro 555, Radeon Pro 560X, etc) They are in fact, not pro at all! (They're actually really trashy for a discrete graphics card.)
@Gingenuity3 жыл бұрын
@@ryanwangpiano so I spent maybe 2 minutes looking up high quality stands and yeah, apple is a rip off. If you pay more than 200 you're a fool.
@ryanwangpiano3 жыл бұрын
@@Gingenuity well, I don't think Apple is directed towards consumers. I'm not an Apple fanboy (in fact I prefer PC's over iMacs by a large margin) but a lot of Apple's stuff is directed towards prosumers/professionals/stuff like that. Take their 5k XDR monitor, for example. It's very very expensive, and thus many people consider it very overpriced, but the thing is, it's not directed towards normal consumers, as it has a lot of features that only professionals will appreciate, such as the extremely high sustained brightness and XDR feature. That's why according to most tech experts, that monitor is actually an insane bargain because it is actually the cheapest XDR monitor on the market and all the other features that it contains make it comparable to other 10k+ monitors. (Yeah, I didn't even know these existed.)
@ryanwangpiano3 жыл бұрын
@@Gingenuity Furthermore, saying you spent 2 minutes "researching" stuff and then immediately jumping to conclusions about companies is a disgrace to all the real tech experts people who spent months, maybe even years researching things. YOU would be a fool to think that you can understand companies' business models in 2 minutes. And I can immediately see that your research is misleading and inaccurate. Spending more than 200 bucks on Apple makes you a fool? So spending 199.99 buying overpriced AirPod pros when you could buy similar products for less than 50 bucks is a "great decision?" On the contrary, did you also know that the LG Ultrafine, the monitor that Apple uses for their 27'' iMacs, costs 1200 bucks? Thus the $1800 entry-level 27'' iMac "actually" costs (excluding the monitor) 600? Go build me a PC with a 6 core unlocked i5 and an RX 580 (a GPU that's similar in performance to a 5300) for 600 bucks. I know right? Literally impossible. So please, stop fooling yourself. You are the one being a fool here.

Overall it’s a great keyboard and I’ve had no connectivity problems with it whatsoever. Only annoying thing to me is that you can’t change the colors of the M1/M2/M3 buttons at the top or even turn them off. They’re always yellow. I have the ten keyless version, and I find the tactile switches to be a little too heavy for me. I'm not a great typist by any means, but I can maybe do 100-120. On this keyboard I can't even make 90. Maybe I just need to get used to it, but the stroke is so heavy (60 g?) that my forearms get tired almost right away. That being said, it's so pretty, the wireless is so lag free, and the lights are really configurable. I'm kind of on the fence about whether I should return it or not. Now that you've (presumably) had it for more than a year, do you find that the switches break in and become easier to press? Or is it always going to be the same?

@@Qichar had it for several years. No issues as yet. I had the I think 915 before that and it had issues with the switches doing double clicks, especially on the space bar.

@@Gnrnrvids I just got a Red Dragon K621 Horus TKL with brown switches and it is perfect. The keyboard feels like a cheap knockoff of the G915, down to the volume slider placement and the wireless dongle tucked into the underside for portable storage. Still, the face is metal and the size is nearly identical. Presumably because the battery, it's not as light as the feel would suggest. Having said all of that, the switches are amazing. They are exactly what I was looking for: low profile brown switches with a lower activation force. They are probably 45g switches to activate, but I don't know for certain. I'm going to have to return my G915 TKL with the tactile switches, even though I love everything about that keyboard EXCEPT for the switches. A part of me wants to hold onto it but it's too expensive to sit around, unused. It's a shame; the design is a work of art, and the Red Dragon copy can't compare aesthetically.
