Just a heads up, the front column will be flippable in all production models. We've also included 8 additional long screws to mount either (1) 2 fans to the radiator rails or (2) mount the screws through the fans and into the radiator (meaning the rad will be above the fans like Jay wanted). We have a document with pictures and details of all the fixes, the ones I mentioned just now are one of many. Last but not least, when using the case in vertical mode with Handles, it's important that it stands on the 4 rubber rings that come with the Handles (otherwise stability will suffer). If somebody wants the full list of improvements, just let us know :)

Fyi, I have been using riser cables for the past 5 years, but with the 4000 series, 4090 , I have had many problems, black screens while gaming, have order many different cables from different brands , different prices (20-140€) none of them work flawlessly, so I have switched case xproto N to an open bench, bc1 mini. It would be an interesting topic to cover maybe in a next video. Thanks for the great content you keep posting:)

JAY Little tip for you. You can purchase ratchet head bit holders, like ratchet spanner/wrenches. Perfectly small for those tight spaces, so instead of finger tight and preying it doesn't come loose (Mobo screw) you can give it a bit of torque to secure it. Most autozone/tool stores will have them. Fantastic for furniture building and small case builds among MANY things. Handy tool to have.

Just a little mechanic tip for yea. The Apex bits for your screw drivers is 1/4". You can use 1/4" ratchet wrench or a regular open end/box end wrench for tight spaces.

9:10 you can also get some angled Phillips-head screwdrivers that look a bit like an Allen key for jobs like that, and also ratchet wrenches designed for taking standard screwdriver bits and turning them 90 degrees for tight angles like that one. Making a smaller one would be a great idea for your channel partners at iFixit.

For the motherboard mounting screws that are not accessible with a standard driver, the bit you used can be tightened using a 1/4" wrench. All bits like this fit into a 1/4 nutdriver.

I would do that same kinda trick to get tight space screws tighter. What I did to get it a bit tighter was to use a small crescent wrench to grip the bit. Plenty enough extra leverage, and easy fit with small wrench. Also doesn't marr the bit like pliers or small vice grips would.

For what it’s worth I am running a 4090 and 5800X3D on an sf750. Even with both loaded under a power virus load, only pull about 575W peak. Transients are good on 40 series too. So go 4090 if you want Jay! Glad to see you, hope things are going well with the health stuff. ❤

Power supplies are generally more efficient at as close to 50% load as possible. Hence he'd go with 900w for a 4090

You should use a little mini ratchet for those screws that are hard to tighten from above, but have access from the side. Can get a tiny bit tighter than your hand-tigthening method, for peace of mind. There are hundreds of models and brands, they're usually about $50-$70 for a kit that comes with its own bits.

Tip for tightening the MB screws. Once the bit in tight as possible, use a small wrench to tighten it the rest of the way using the flat parts of the bit as grip for the wrench.

If you do get bubbling, I know you may not like the idea of cutting into your aio tubes.... but you could add a reservoir with custom soft tubing. Then you can route the tubes to not allow bubbles in the cpu block. It's a mess converting aio's cause they're meant mainly to push just the volume of liquid that comes in the radiator. When you add more liquid, it's more work on the motor. But it can be done. You could also take the electric motor out and order the next sku up, or custom rewind the coils for more oomph. Rewinding motors imo is better. Same draw, up to twice its base power depending on how tightly/precisely you wrapped it.

It's good to see that the manufacturers are sending these pre-production cases out to get opinions and then taking comments made on the designs serious enough to make revisions around them. In this way they will get a much better data set than they will just testing the cases themselves with a limited set of hardware. To my mind this case could use some feet (possibly either a magnetic or push in design to merge with the slot and hole aesthetic of the outer case) to allow for better vertical airflow, a change the path that the GPU riser takes in order to stop it from being damaged as the outer shell is slid on and for it to be possible to switch the orientation of either the control panel or the button section attached to it.

i think once full built and assembled the extra weight would improved the sturdiness of the stand in all fairness Jay. Also leaving the feet/handles on may not be all that of a bad idea depending on where you plan to place it, they can basically be like bumper rails to help protect rear io.

J why don't you just use a be quiet pure Loop 2 280 mm aio? It was made for small form factor cases where you're concerned about are building up in the pump, the pump is mid tube length, instead of on the CPU block portion of the cooler

their previous offering had similar issues, this "bigger" case (the previous one was 10L) was suppose to help with all the cable+case squeezing. for AIO its a nightmare unless you have small hands and have enough patience. good luck with the case - hope your experience will be better for some of us.

Hey Jay, I can’t really tell from video angles but is there any way you can route the riser cable in between the MOBO and the rail before installing the board? That way it should take some of the pressure off of the riser and keep the wires protected by being inside the rail.

Show us options for custom loops even an external radiator which there are plenty of. There are the nexxxos 1080mm rads, mora rads, the big tower radiator from alphacool I think, you cpuld even just get some of your old unused radiators and stick them on something you 3D print to hold them. All options alot of us would love to see. Pump placements, QDCs etc etc. I'm sure your pc parts shop has parts to make this happen.

I’ve done a few SFF builds recently. Little bit fiddly at times but much prefer them to the mid towers. Same temps. Smaller footprint and just looks better imo. The fish tank look has just been overdone now. These types of cases are much more interesting.
