Jazwares MASTER CHIEF Halo Infinite Series 3 Action Figure Review

The first figure from Jazwares for the new Halo game was one of the most impressive collectibles for the franchise to date due to it's relatively high level of quality for the low price. Have they improved one some of the issues with this new release or will we have to look to more expensive counterparts to satisfy our Halo collection shelves?

Hi! i’ve spoken to a lot of this line’s development team over the year and i’d like to say that wave 3 suffered due to halo infinite being delayed. Jazware’s did not have permission yet to release any newer designs past Wave 2, so to meet product deadlines they had to repurpose the molds from wave 1, and cheapen the cost to make wave 3… it’s unfortunate.. But wave 4 is back on board and the QC went right back up again.

The chrome visors not being in wave 3 is an error, and they're confirmed to be back in wave 4.

Yeah, I saw the wave 4 Chief in store and he had a chrome visor, the neck is still really tall though

yeah funny maybe wave 3. is the 3 copy chief Halo Infinite suit with renew limb joint , maybe they want to cut the chrome visor and they got feedback people want the chorme visor back...

@@seed4212 There is actually an Infinite Chief in wave 4 along with the Halo 2 chief. He comes with the AR and a plasma pistol. And the Halo 2 Chief is definitely too bright, I bought one anyways though.

I'm sticking with the first wave. I repainted him, tightened the arm joints. Turned the elbow the correct way and helped create better torso articulation. He's really really good now.

The multiplayer is heresy. For those who can't pay for the battle pass, you can unlock nothing else but dumb challenge swaps. Nothing to customise your Spartan. And you can't progress your level by just simply playing, you need to complete challenges to get xp It's just dumb and they need to fix it asap. Other than that, great video mate, as always!

Not sure how aware you are (I wouldn’t blame you if you’re not) but 343 is aware of some of the issues and have already made a few fixes. Now, you can get 300xp, 200 twice, 100 thrice and 50 from then on, so by playing 6 games in a day you can rank up at least once just by playing. Keep in mind this battle pass is meant to last like 4 months or something so I guess they don’t want people blitzing through it unless they’re just paying for it. Obviously it’s not perfect or even all that great because it doesn’t reward performance, but they do plan to make further changes down the line. The monetisation of all the stuff in the store is very bad and unfortunately i don’t see them fixing it anytime soon.

lol you DO unlock armor, coatings, visors, etc. Only for your mk 7 core. As far as xp goes they made it way to easy to boost, especially if you have double xp and doing the weekly challenges. I boosted 10 lvls in 1 day with the double xp. The multiplayer is phenomenal but the shop definitely needs a way for us to earn credits to spend via challenges. Campaign also rewards you with some of the best coatings yet.

I'm happy with the later release wave 1 Chief that had the better qc, its almost perfect. Are you going to get and review the Gamestop 2 pack with the Combat Evolved Chief? It unfortunately comes with another Infinite Chief and was pushed back from Oct to this month and again from earlier to later this month, so I hope its not pushed back again.

Fun fact about the wave 1 (and wave 2 to a degree) Chief: for whatever reason, jazwares decided to add black paint over the lip that goes over Chief’s upper abs so if you wanted to, you could take some nail polish remover to that area and remove the paint to make it accurate again.

Thanks duder - I had this one in hand, but set it down once I caught the chrome visor was no longer reflective...they did such a great job that first round. This is the best review out there that clearly compares the two releases, well done.

The knee joints themselves are also made of a *really* soft rubber that feels like they're about to break.

Multiplayer is pretty great, and the campaign was really good, the campaign felt like halo wars but first person, and not just because the Banished were there

In regards to your question about Infinites multiplayer, I like it. I have a lot of the same issues most people do (progression system, challenges, etc) but I've still had fun playing it.

So I’ve been playing halo since 8th grade. That’s when I got my 360 and it came with Reach. Even though I didn’t full grasp the story at that time I was immediately enamored with the game. After that my friends and I got fully caught up in the multiplayer of halo 4, played for hours daily. When The MCC came out I got that day 1 and started the OG halo, still slightly too immature to appreciate it like I do today. I also never even completed it back then or played the other games. Now to present day. Over that last week I played Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, started Halo 5 but was not really enjoying it so I jumped immediately into Infinite. I absolutely adore the lore and story of this franchise and now I understand just exactly how bad ass Master Chief is. I picked up the new series 4 version of this chief yesterday and it’s so dope. For $20 it has amazing shelf presence. The neck is definitely too big but besides that it’s awesome. Can’t get over that visor. Really enjoying this review!

Thank you for pointing out the knees. I can't believe how some reviewers think these knees are an improvement! I'm cheering for WCT/Jazwares to get it right though, I like what they're doing with this line.

I had a loose left shoulder on version 1 as well, I just had to rotate the shoulder joint and it was fine.

I think it's a one off issue Anthony, 'cause I got mine back in September and my figure doesn't have any of those issues except for the very limited torso articulation. Although there's one thing, my master chief misses one of his thigh holster right off the box, I think jazwares really needs to up their QC with this line

I got this Chief and I swapped his head/neck out with my Chrome Visor wave 1 Chief. Painted the W1 helmet to match the paint of this figures. Much better. Absolutely loving Infinite BTW. I can't put it down. I think these figures arenr BAD at all but they could be better. I wish they'd fix the issues you stated for sure. If they did I'd be willing to pay 30 for them.

I know this isn't a new video but for me it has just been very valuable. I was looking at both of these figures on eBay looking for advice on what one would be best to buy and I totally missed the chrome visor difference and you have just helped me get the older one for the visor

I love infinite. However, the fact that I can whoop ass and be at the top of the leaderboard yet get no do for it definitely sucks. They really need to address it soon. I hate having to grind specific challenges as the only way to level up. Awesome game though. The best it’s felt in a while

the progression system is improved but still needs some work. My biggest problem is the connection. BTB is my favorite game type but I have to fight the game, before I can fight the other team.

I had the same super loose shoulder on my wave 1 chief but there is a video that shows how to fix it. the actual shoulder joint is upside down and once you spin it so it's rightside up then the joint is great.

I've got the series 1 version and I touched up the paint. I fixed the portion on his chest that's painted black when it should be green, and gave it a dark wash. Just a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol and a tiny bit of paint and water made the figure a standout in my collection. The figure looks like he just walked out of the game after kicking a bunch of brute ass.

not surprised the original is way better, producing these figures is more expensive now and to maintain profit margins they had to cheap out on many aspects. this seems to be consistent with every company across the board in 2021.

Progression is in a decent spot right now, you get enough xp to level up daily, and if you use XP Boosts it makes the process twice as fast to go through… assuming you load into enough matches that don’t consume to much of its limited time. As for the series 3 master chief….. I don’t like it, mostly because of the random areas of Silver and black, and the Extended neck. Though the shade of green is much better than the first version. Only positive though. Probably would’ve returned Series 3 MC had I not customized him. In my opinion prefer the first version that came out with the joyride style visor and in general just gives off a more bulky feel, whereas S3 gives off a slimmer look that doesn’t fit chief. Theirs gonna be a two pack with Combat evolved chief and another Infinite variation, so maybe that one will find a good common ground. Regardless I’m just excited to find Master chief figures that are finally the right size and not tiny like the McFarlane ones.

Great review, I havev this figure and I regreat buy, Hate the long neck and visor,, This thing happen when a company don't look back to previous companies and make improvement, or not hesr the customers ( FANS), JOY RIDE ar not perfect but WOW the way I pose the Master Chief and Spartans fron HALO 2 are AWESOME, I still believe JOY RIDE made the best articulations of HALO figures sinse HALO 2, unfortunately the plastic are not of great quality, I preorder the 20th Aniversary on Game Stop and Why Jazwares make a pack of All HALO Master Chief armor, 1.Combat Evolved 2. HALO 2-3 basic same armor 3. HALO 4-5 básic same armor too 4. HALO INFINITE

From the packaging how can you tell the difference between wave 2 and 3? I'm looking to get the wave 2 online. I think the neck length and helmet width from the front contributes quite a bit to the accuracy of the figure. I plan to repaint it but if I can get that beautiful visor already and I can keep that. Edit: I just realized it's easy to tell by what accessories are in the box.

Progression is a total bummer however the gameplay itself is a blast but there are only 5 or 6 game modes. We need to be able to pick our own mix of game modes like in mcc.

Where would you rank the mcfarlane figures in terms of best halo figures? I saw the 1000toys on pre order but it was way too expensive and I didn't like how the jazzwares had such little shading and detail so I got the mcfarlane figures. My only problem is that they don't really scale with anything.

I despised the system in which you obtained armor and gear in halo 5. I think the progression system in infinite needs to be worked on. I also think we need some sort of leveling system, because doing good in the game right now is basically pointless. Overall I still love infinite and only wish the best for it.

I feel like Halo going live service and free to play just ruined the whole online progression. So far no game that has implemented a season pass has managed to keep me playing. I just see it as a cash grab full of microtransactions. Makes me kinda think we took Halo 5's customization and Req for granted. Guess I'll be stuck using the starter armor for a bit.

This figure just doesn't look appealing to me at all, and when you showed off those godawful knees it just killed any excitement I had for him. I got a series 1 figure a few weeks ago and he's just perfect, but this one seems more toy-like all around especially with the grapple shot attachment
