DOWNLOAD NOTATION & BACKING TRACK: bit.ly/KZbin...
I made this backing track the other day and I've been having a lot of fun vibing over it.
A lot of what I have learnt is from watching others play, so I thought I would have a jam over this and then get you guys to let me know which bits are your favourite, and next week I'll explain and analyze your favourite bits!

I really like that idea! I'm actually teaching myself about the history of jazz at the moment, but once I feel comfortable enough with the information I would be more than happy to share it!

Suggestion: I play by ear , I never had the opportunity of learning proper notation etc. notation is something I’ve kinda picked up over the years and I know there are tons of people like me. I think it would be of great benefit for students and for you if apart from sheet notation you would include a MIDI file encapsulating each class.

Well Sensei, I wish you could teach us the wicked bebop scales you do on various occasions of the video like at the near end. I play a bit of salsa in my channel because I was pretty much raised with it in my Island, but I started listening to jazz and I would love to learn that type of improv more. You truly seem to have developed to a point the beautiful "feel" of improvisation which makes hearing you so satisfying. I am a fan of bebop, I admit I can be a bit biased but, to have that skill of being able to "fly" around the keys as if they were clouds with the bebop technique would be a very valuable lesson. Even better so if its in depth. I apreciate the time you spent reading this :) P.S you can enjoy some bits of salsa in mah channel.

NONE OF IT, 'COS IT'S ALL RUBBISH! Haa, just joking of course, it's all brilliant as far as i can tell. What i think i'll do is try to go through it without any explanation, i think that may be a good ear developing exercise, as well as to find out what you've played. What do you think, maestro?
@Piano_Pig
@Piano_Pig 6 жыл бұрын
I think if you wanted to benefit the most you possible could from this video, you should transcribe the entire solo purely by ear. Obviously that would be a HUGE amount of work but it would do wonders in terms of developing your ears.

Nice licks. I can hear where you are playing out and moving to the next chord change, but it's really difficult to see. Any way you can chart this out, and transcribe what's happening here? The blue flashes with flashing note names doesn't really show what is truly happening. It all just goes by too quickly to absorb any of it.
