Kalle Kalima is versatile and innovative. The Finnish jazz guitarist and composer is at the Tiny House alongside classical music expert and festival director Steven Walter and artist and musician Coco Elane. There they will be chatting, preparing food, and making music together! As the sun begins to set, Kalle Kalima describes his jazz and classical music projects and how he became a “musical terrorist”. Kalima is not only a hugely important figure on the European jazz scene, but he is also a specialist in jazz-baroque collaborations. Using subtle methods Kalima explores the similarities between the practice of baroque performance and the art of improvisation in modern jazz. To show examples of the jazz-converted baroque music, Kalima performs two hits of Early music: Henry Purcell's 'When I'm Laid in Earth' and Johann Pachelbel's Canon and gigue in D major. So if you are keen to know how baroque music and jazz can be combined then this episode of TINY HOUSE CONCERT is a must for you!

TINY HOUSE CONCERT is a series presenting classical music in a down to earth way. Stars and professionals from the international classical music scene are guests at the Tiny House, owned by Steven Walter, who directs the Beethovenfest in Bonn. Alongside him is artist and musician Coco Elane, who didn’t wish to pursue a career in classical music, instead favoring her own projects, ranging between serious and popular music. Between thought-provoking questions, spontaneous music sessions, and intense conversations soft drinks will be mixed and favorite dishes prepared. And of course, there will be a concert of the highest artistic quality. TINY HOUSE CONCERT: This is the new and surprising classical music format for connoisseurs and beginners alike.
