This series will show you a few ways of adding a little jazz flavour to your blues playing. This lesson shows you how to develop the arpeggios into nicer lines using "Arpreggiator".

Having followed Justin's lessons for years, I can't believe I haven't come across this lesson before. For me, this is the best guitar exercise I've seen so far. A real revelation!

I love this exercise. Tricky to get perfect straight away but when it picks up its great. And I can see the possibilities of improvising around the changes using them to make some cool lines.

this guy is so right and so rad. he did the legwork and boiled it down. this is the path to legit outside playing. im wondering what difference the dom7 arp has vs. maj7, min7, or min7b5 when superimposed on the two pentatonic shapes. why start with the dom7 arp?

It seems to matter whether you include the G or not, because it changes the number of notes in the sequence, and so whether you actually cycle through all the possible changes or not?

Applying this now to a II V I, or an even longer progression would be a good plan. A friend of mine explained a load of jazz theory to me and the penny dropped. Now I just have to work on my fingers and fretboard knowledge.

Once someone asked me "why are your fingers so flat sometimes" I said "because I'm sweep picking" and showed them what it was.

mentally i get it, the arpeggios aren't hard, the concept isn't hard but jaysus i get two or three counts of eight in and my brain breaks down, am i going up or down? is it D or A? It would be helpful to have some kind of visual reference to the note where the change occurs each count of 8,
