Ok so I noticed the “there is no ctrl Z in stone” comment, but there IS a was to cover up a mistake in carving stone. In the 1400s-1500s (around Michelangelo’s time) a method developed where an artist would cover a crack or blemish in the stone with wax and then cover that with stone powder to make it appear like the stone was smooth. Fun fact: “sin” or sine” means without and “cera” means wax. These two words combine to make the word “sincere” in english, so when someone signs a letter “sincerely” it means that the letter is “without wax” meaning that the letter is true or honest.

I love that you push the point of dable before you dive a lot of people watch youtube videos like this and the artist makes things seem so easy people think they can do it in a second just because they saw someone with years or even decades of experience on the subject do it easily and they end up ruining whatever they're working on and giving up because of frustration it is very important any time someone tries anything new they use a test piece to try and get use to the new medium or method they're using it's really nice to see someone constantly reinforcing that idea even as good as you are at what you do
@Darkthestral16 жыл бұрын
Ohh yay! I've been waiting for this since the Daily Jazza vlog! You did a great job, and i hope you'll do more stuff like this! (also plaster carving is a lot more affordable and you can do some amazing stuff with it so it's great for basic carving practice) As for what to do with the other stone, i think the shape would lend itself nicely to a hatching dragon. You could even keep some of the original stone texture to make it look like the egg was embedded in rock and lost from time until something triggered the beast to hatch from within it's stony prison. Also dragon is always the right choice, because dragon

For your health don't use a dust mask use a respirator stone dust is extremely dangerous to breathe in. Inhaling silica dust leads to a chronic or short term breathing condition known as silicosis. ... Wearing a respirator or properly rated dust mask reduces the risk of silicosis. Alternatively, you could switch to a stone with less silica like limestone.
