look up this guy david_art on instagram, he does really cool paintings as part of a series called "Brushstrokes in time" where he uses a single brushstroke through a background painting and fills it in with detail from a completely different time period in the same place. It's hard to describe but they are amazing

It’s never been confirmed as Bob was a very private person and only trusted his closest friends who have maintained his secrets. So treat the rest of this comment with a pinch of salt. he was a drill sergeant up in Alaska and had a reputation for being a hard-ass. Like the drill sergeant from Platoon level of hard-ass. And after getting out he discovered a painting class and fell in love with it and made a vow to never yell at anyone ever again.

I haven’t watched a Bob Ross in years, but I am totally impressed at how much of his teaching language I absorbed back in the 90s that I use as an art teacher today (only been teaching five years). Loved watching this one and truly how close you got.

At this age it’s more about exposing to a lot of media, a basic understanding of art history and creative careers, learning the elements of art and principles of design, and using their creativity outside the art room. I plant seeds and we have fun.

I know this video is old, but I've just found it and I am laughing my ass off. 🤣 I wish Bob were alive today to see so many people trying to follow along with his paitings or doing this sort of thing here. I think he'd get a kick out of it, too. And honestly? I'm kinda into yours. It gives me old school fairytale vibes, with a mystical/spooky forest in the back, and a colorful area in the middle of this place with an old cabin at the edge of a short cliff where bright brambles grow beyond. And for just listening to it and making it up as you went, I'd say you did pretty darn good.

Jazza, the biggest trick to a Bob Ross painting is that there is no wrong way to paint it. You just do what the brush, and your heart, tell you to do.
