look up this guy david_art on instagram, he does really cool paintings as part of a series called "Brushstrokes in time" where he uses a single brushstroke through a background painting and fills it in with detail from a completely different time period in the same place. It's hard to describe but they are amazing

It’s never been confirmed as Bob was a very private person and only trusted his closest friends who have maintained his secrets. So treat the rest of this comment with a pinch of salt. he was a drill sergeant up in Alaska and had a reputation for being a hard-ass. Like the drill sergeant from Platoon level of hard-ass. And after getting out he discovered a painting class and fell in love with it and made a vow to never yell at anyone ever again.

@@FennecTECH Great idea for those who teach high school. I teach the babies-kindergarten through 4th grade. At this age it’s more about exposing to a lot of media, a basic understanding of art history and creative careers, learning the elements of art and principles of design, and using their creativity outside the art room. I plant seeds and we have fun.

I know this video is old, but I've just found it and I am laughing my ass off. 🤣 I wish Bob were alive today to see so many people trying to follow along with his paitings or doing this sort of thing here. I think he'd get a kick out of it, too. And honestly? I'm kinda into yours. It gives me old school fairytale vibes, with a mystical/spooky forest in the back, and a colorful area in the middle of this place with an old cabin at the edge of a short cliff where bright brambles grow beyond. And for just listening to it and making it up as you went, I'd say you did pretty darn good.

Now I kinda want him to paint another one that is yet another 50 years in the future. In fact, that'd be a great series of paintings. Take a famous painting and then redo it as 50 or 100 or 1000 years later

Your's looks like his, but 50 years later when the owner of the property is too old and left the upkeep in the hands of his lazy children.

"50 years later..." I'm curious as to what the actual real world time difference is. From when Bob painted his and Jazza did his. That's crazy close for not being able to see it. Well done.

Video idea: someone watches the Bob Ross tutorial and explains what he is doing to you and you have to draw it without listening or watching bob

You’re reactions to the very confusing "non directions” are priceless! Hahahahahaha I would have expected more specific directions too! NOW he’s TALKING about the barn, the door, the weeds! Why didn’t he do that with the sky?? 🤣🤣 Your painting is looking remarkably good - different from Bob’s, but really good! Alizarin Crimson (Uh-LIZ’-uh-rin), but from now on, any time you use bright red I think you should call it Lizardin Crimson! Ima new watcher & lovin it!
