I like this video in terms of articulation, but what about PROJECTING THE SOUND? i think playing outside is a better suggestion

What barrel are you using?

I noticed the different shape of the barrel? How does it make the clarinet sound differently than with a regular barrel?

Hi Victor, could you please make a video addressing how to eliminate any hissing sounds when playing the clarinet? Would be much appreciated! Thank you!

+Earthly Gods Stop playing.

Earthly Gods Just make sure there is no spit on the back of the reed. I always wipe the back of mine on my shirt before I play. And don't listen to the haters, keep playing if that makes you happy.

The reed you are using is too strong. Change to a lower reed. Also match the reed to the mouthpiece.

@@carlwilson4375even light reeds hiss. It's about getting a balanced reed. Whether that's a 2½ or a 5½, if it's balanced and has enough resistance but not too much that it's stuffy, then it won't hiss.

Can you guys do a video demonstrating trumpet mutes and the cornet / flugelhorn?
@JazzAcademy9 жыл бұрын
+Tools240 We have one on plunger mutes currently up here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWHakKSbiaikn9k - there is another one we're nearly ready to post too, which covers a wider range of mutes! Flugelhorn we haven't filmed yet, but we'll get there!

I guess thats new orleans clarinet timbre?

Yeah, most traditional jazz players prefer a reedy sound like Goines', which is achieved by a soft reed, and often a very open mouthpiece.
