Go to the chinatown, or sometimes there's this fest(?) made by a community from certain country (my country has them i think) in the us like where they made & sells sum of their hallmark street snacks even whole main course and drinks of their country, but im not sure if its exist in all states.

We have something similar to Bee Pang here in Bangladesh. It is called Mowa. We got Puffed rice, Flatted rice flacks, Nuts, sesame seeds & Gur (jaggery)- made from the extract of Date trees. It is shaped like a ball & is one of the oldest/traditional snacks in here.

Same in here south india , we call it puri unde it's made by mixing puffed rice , nuts and melted jaggery shaped into balls , it tastes amazing and extremely sweet

These videos are great but RE the Squid cook - it's not ideal taking par cooked Squid off the grill and putting it on the cutting board to cut it then back on the grill and finally putting the cooked Squid on the same cutting board. It's asking for food poisoning

@@byteme9718 I appreciate your answer but squid like any other seafood can give you food poisoning if eaten raw or mishandled such as in this clip. Food safety 101 don't put cook meat on the same board prepared the raw meat. Common sense really.

@@GG-kc6ie The fact you mention 101 suggests you're from the US and therefore paranoid about food safety overseas on the one hand while totally ignoring the quality of food production and quality in the US on the other. I'm very careful when it comes to food hygiene and is I was worried about the board I would have been equally paranoid about the same knife and tongs being used. The ultimate test is in the eating and I can tell you that I've been eating JB street food since 19987 and never had any kind of stomach problem other than still feeling hungry and wanting more. I see (if I choose) everything being cooked fresh and I admit. there are times when I walk away from a particular vendor. Lack of customers is the first sign of concern. Where I have had experienced issues is in local, high star rated, hotels but given how many times I eat there, how mild the problem and how rarely happens I don't worry. If this concerns you then best not watch any videos about night wet markets with fresh meat hanging in tropical heat covered in flies. They're a complete contrast to late night fish markets where you can't even smell fish and everything is clean.

Its actually big white radishes lol. A friend went and had it a few years ago and said she was sure the big white chunks are like diakon radish or Korean type radish lol. Id love to know the story on how it became to be called carrot cake lol

@@Emeraldwitch30 ​ it's called carrot cake as the hokkien dialect doesn't have a proper word for white radishes, so they used their equivalent of carrot which was then directly translated to english. the cake aspect of the name comes from how it's made where rice flour is used to bind the ingredients. anyone else that knows can correct me if i'm wrong, im from SG but idk much bout Chinese culture and dialects.

Here in India we have something similar like Bee Pang and it is called Kurmura laddu(Puffed rice ball) or Kurmura chikki(Puffed rice flattened cakes same like one in this video) 😍 But than eating it slightly warm has it's own fun ☺️

It's quite a universal snack! It is sometimes shaped into balls or oblong shapes. I've eaten some with bits of chopped cilantro mixed in but it's hard to find that version these days

@@flyingcat2054 Johor Bahru, in Johor state. Night market is pretty much the culture around South East Asia, because it’s too hot to operate during the day. But Malaysian night market have the most variety in terms of food choices.

The dough fritter stick is one of my favorites, and my "classic" street food. Basically, it's already delicious on its own. Dipped in the chili sauce? Very nice. Topped on a chicken porridge? Very good!

I was confused why there was no carrots in the carrot cake and I discovered something! This is Chai Tow Kway. It is called "carrot cake" because of a loose English-from-Hokkien translation of "radish pastry" Now ya’ll have learned something too! :)

In the early 90s those fritters only cost Rm0.20, while fired chicken was Rm1.30. I'd say the chicken is so cheap now compared to that dough fritter.
