I love it!! It's better than ResinCrete, IMHO. It's ceramic resin. I found coloring it fairly easy. Today I used acrylic paint as a mix-in with brilliant results.

Just bought three of these 2 lb bags for $5 USD on clearance each. I found the metric scoop weird, since the measurements in the directions are in tablespoons and cups, but the scoop shows milliliters. Glad to hear that each scoop is 1/6 of a cup, which correlates with the powder measurements being in 6th of a cup increments ranging from 1/6 to 1 cup.

My first attempt at using this has been a disaster! It seemed like the water to powder ratio was off and the powder wouldn’t mix. (That ml scoop really does suck) By the time I managed to get it smooth it was already thickening. I had powder and cement drips everywhere. Be sure to try this the first time in a well-protected space or your garage. You made it look so easy!! For round two I’m going to research that water ratio some more and use a larger cup for mixing so that the water can reach down to the bottom more quickly and easily.

Mine turned out to be a disaster too. How hard is it to give correct measurements! I'm not happy.
@claytonjames4779
@claytonjames4779 3 ай бұрын
I follow the measurements to a t with no issues. Make sure to add powder to the water. It's essentially 37% water. I found a formula on the upvibe channel where he talks about measurements with using water to figure out how much material you need. You take the amount of water and double it and then multiply that amount by 0.81. that is your powder amount. Multiply the powder amount by .37 and that is your water amount.

I've been using Mix2Mold for a couple of weeks, and I do love it. I ordered their pigment ink before watching your video, and I kind of wish I'd waited. I'm wondering if adding the drops to the water beforehand would make a difference for a more solid blend. I tried using mica powder, and it did blend, but it came out very light in colour. And I also tried a resin dye, and it didn't blend well at all. I think I may try the acrylic paint mentioned in a previous comment to see if it works for me.

You should really like resincrete. I've tried several times to get satisfactory results with this Mix2Mold stuff and been disappointed every time. It does take coloring well no matter how long you mix it and the working time is so short that if you stir too long it's too thick to do anything with it. I'll use up what I have and stick with resincrete. Had great results with that and made a ton of things. Doesn't seem to matter what I mix in with it either. Takes color and other additives really well.

I do love this product but also find that it just doesn't take the color unless you use a lot more than one would think is needed. I have heard that jesmonite color is more highly pigmented, so I ordered some and it will take a couple to 3 weeks to have them delivered through Amazon, so we'll see. I have tried mica powder, alcohol inks, acrylic paint and the brand name to color items, so far the colors are very pale, but I'm hopeful that the set I ordered will do better.
@AzPurpleLady
@AzPurpleLady 5 ай бұрын
I had terrible luck adding mica powder. The item looks awful. I stirred for quite some time till smooth but there is so little working time with this stuff compared to ResinCrete that I went ahead and poured into my mold. So far, I've made a few things and I'm rather under-whelmed. Doesn't take color all that well and so little working time that I'll probably just used up what I bought and stay with ResinCrete.

@AzPurpleLady
@AzPurpleLady 5 ай бұрын
@@warriorempathshealingfromn5625 It is affordable but the drawbacks are just not worth it for me. I tried using it again this afternoon using just liquid colorant no mica powder and the results were darn near as bad as the powder. It doesn't seem to matter how much you stir it just doesn't stay mixed in and, like someone else mentioned, you would have to add TONS of color to get to a color you want. Today's results are in no way saleable. I'll try and do something with them or keep the items as a reminder of what not to do. I'm going to give it one more try by adding acrylic paint this time for coloring and see if I get any better results. I'm really annoyed at myself for buying TWO tubs of this stuff without trying it out first. If adding acrylic paint doesn't work than anything I make with it from now on will just be white and I'll have to paint it which adds to my labor time. I at least want to use up the tub I have opened and maybe I can sell the other tub. I don't have any trouble with the ResinCrete adding any kind of color or other goodies and it has a much longer working time and you unmold it after 30 minutes instead of an hour. I rarely did it that soon but it's nice to know you could.
