JBL Charge 5 Review - This Thing Gets Loud!

Just bought one from Best Buy today. This thing sounds amazing and you can't hear how amazing it sounds listening at it through KZbin. It packs a lot of bass as well as great quality sound and it does get very loud. Its waterproof and dust proof so it works well at the beach or if you work in an industrial shop where there is a lot of dust in the air.

The sound quality, size, price and looks definitely killed all other Bluetooth speakers out there in the market. It's one of the best I've ever had. Bass is great and the size is perfect. The best speaker for seamen like us who's killing boredom in our cabins. :)

The Charge 5 now has an equalizer through the JBL app. Now you can turn that bass up even more!

Great choice, I just got this one at Brandsmart and almost made a bad decision getting the Sony but the salesman recommended the JBL and he was right… worth it! Clear loud sound and awesome bass 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Helps me to remember to take my meds, keep me on the loop with severe weather and other random things that I ask for. Absolutely love the clear sound of my music. Durable when I take it with me between homes…never worry about damaging paper thin netting that’s like on other speakers.

I have 3 Charge 5’s. I still can’t wait. To see what the Charge 6 will look like? Is a smaller version of the Extreme 3. With one woofer to out. Have you seen the video and what do you think?

I have the original Bose Soundlink Mini (1st Gen) and it's getting pretty old. Still sounds awesome but the battery is getting weak. I mainly just use it as a PC speaker now. Does the JBL Charge 5 sound better in your opinion? I don't care so much about max volume, I care about quality.

Excellent speaker and really comes into it's own when paired and put into stereo mode. I was / am very impressed. In party boost it is just mono speakers playing together. Placed in stereo mode it just comes to life. The sound is phenomenal. I'm enjoying music that I have listened to for years all over again.

How do you put in stereo mode? Is that like pairing another speaker with it?

@@boomerak4774You have to have 2 compatible party boost speakers, then download THE JBL app, pair the speakers and choose stereo mode rather than party mode. The sound is great, unfortunately the app has a built in equalizer that cannot be used once the speaker is paired with another. Perhaps a software update one day...

I wouldn't upgrade unless your Charge 4 is too old and not working like it should. The JBL charge 4 is still a great speaker but the Charge 5 is slightly better.

hey I have the jbl charge 4 and I was taking a shower with it and it got wet a bit and the cover got like lumps and stuff I did end up fixing it by drying it and smoothing it out but is that supposed to happen?

It is! I had the Boom 3 for 2 years now and recently got the Charge 5. The Charge 5 is a more sold feeling speaker aswell as a better sounding one.

The Xtreme 3 only has a little more bass and gets a little louder, but it's also much bigger, heavier and more expensive. It's much more worth it buying a Charge 5, otherwise just get a Boom box 2 that costs almost the same.

I have a Charge 5 (the extreme 3's little brother) I find the biggest takeaway is lack of the aux port meaning I cant wire it to my phone or other device for playing games since using Bluetooth without at least aptx built in the latency is way to high however I know usb audio is possible on the device and with the ability to push firmware updates I know my chance is next to 0% but I just hope someone at JBL sees one of my comments and adds a Toggle in there app for audio over usb!

@@adventuremanintheclouds8968 there's no excuse for not having an aux jack and it sounds just fine for Games it's a high end portable speaker, I should be able to pair it with my laptop when traveling camping etc and play a round or two but no, thanks jbl and with ultra cheap audio devices sporting low latency codec there's no excuse either at that price point
