Stop telling me that I put it “on the wrong side”. This is clearly to see the movement of the radiators, and not a sound test. If this was a sound test, I would be using a good microphone.

Many people tell me to use “Low Frequency Mode”. However, this mode doesn’t boost low frequencies. It turns off all DSP and so, the tunings of the speaker, making it sound tinny and horrible. It reduces bass, I have no idea why someone decided to call it “Low Frequency Mode”, because it does the exact opposite of that. It also makes the speaker distort, and the chance of blowing it up is big. So please stop commenting to use the “Low Frequency Mode”.

SKULL NATION Definitely not the Flip series at all. Either the Charge 3 or XB30 would do well for bass. The XB30 keeps slightly more bass at high volumes.

Otto Meijerhof when you want to assemble it again, start by putting the grill in the front of the speaker, then start pushing the side of the grill where there is no buttons and keep the side where the buttons are for the end (sorry for bad english)

Bruno Bello When i bought the charge 3.. i was quite disapointed with the sound. totally diff from 2+. But i like it. it sounds bigger, more powerful. but now im back to mostly using my 2+. i just love the clarity of the 2+. Charge 3 = more powerful, battery last forever, waterproof. Charge 2+ = better sound clarity. splashproof. i still prefer the charge 2+.

It's not only the sound where the choice depends on guys. Think of JBL Connect or JBL Connect+. Some speakers last long with their battery and some of them don't. All things considered I choose for the JBL Boombox. It is, of course, the most heavy speaker JBL ever made but it's definitely the best speaker. The speaker has a heavy bass and also the high- and midranges are still pretty good. The only disadvantage is that the speaker is very big and weighs almost 6 kilos. So it's very difficult to take it with you on the bike (but I found a way to this :) ). So when you are searching for a brand new speaker and you like to party, I would recommend the JBL Boombox. Nevertheless, if you prefer a smaller speaker, take the Charge 3! Balanced sound and it goes hard enough for indoor use! Don't take the charge 2+ or flip 4... They are my biggest mistake... :p

Zeno Koutsocheras Many points you state here are right indeed. A few depend on opinions, like what you said about the Boombox. In my opinion, it’s not really the best speaker JBL ever made, only for parties it is. Also, yes, the Charge 2+ is just bad these days. But the Flip 4, I still think, is one of the best. What didn’t you like about it? It has more bass than practically every speaker in its class, and reaches deeper than almost all speakers in its class, it is very durable, looks good, waterproof. I don’t see what’s bad about it, what do you? I often even prefer it over the Charge 3 indoors. The punch is quite similar, just not as boosted. And the treble is much better, but a bit too much, which you can tone down with an EQ.

Amsterdam2001 Charge 3 is veruit de beste, maar voor 80€ is de Flip 3 ook erg goed. Ik kan alleen de Charge 2 niet echt aanraden.

Amsterdam2001 Lang niet zoveel als de Charge 3, maar meer dan vrijwel elke speaker van hetzelfde formaat. Al zal de Flip 4, die begin lente komt, waarschijnlijk nog iets meer hebben.

Ik heb nu even de charge 2+. Ff kijken hoe die is. Morgen ff de flip 3 uittesten en dan eentje uitkiezen. Ik had gehoord dat de charge 2 meer bass heeft dan flip 3. Vandaar dat ik nu ff charge 2 heb
