Now it's official! NRD's speaker reviews give us the best overall picture of what the product's qualities are. Thorough measurements with explanations. Qualified analysis where subjective impressions are seen in the context of measurements, true love of music and audio and so on. Bravvvo! Pure, talkative subjectivist superHEARos and bitter orthodox measurement should get up early in the morning to match this. Again. Bravo. This should be the biggest hifi channel on youtube

Great review with commentary Ron! Your term “presence” and “fun” resonance with what I am hearing. A couple of big Rel subs with room correction (bass correction) added to these JBL’s would definitely increase the fun and presence factor. Thanks for the review!

Not sure it's the right fit for your audience, but video game music is not claimed often because game companies generally want to encourage streaming. These tracks run the gamut from electronic, orchestral, acoustic, rock, etc. and the production values can be quite high. Like movie soundtracks. Something to consider.

I have to say that Randy is pretty impressive. I have to admit that I am using Beats IEMs and was not expecting much from them, but every time Ron sat down or stood up from the couch it sounded like he was right next to me. There were several times where Ron hit his hand down on the arm rest and the first time I actually looked to my left as if he was there. There was also a time at the beginning when Ron was explaining why he calls him Randy that he moved his head to talking straight to Randy to talking back at the camera and it change the direction of his voice. I know this is just a loan but Ron, you need to convince JBL to let you keep these.

I have listened to this model at the dealers store, compared it to focal aria 936, b&w diamond, and the jbl immediatly was so enjoyable. It was so easy to tell the difference between hdi3600 and aria. And i loved the hdi3600 hands down better. I wonder how does it compare to klipsch rp 6000?

How was the difference between Focal Aria and JBL HDI 3600?
@AlonAbraham1
@AlonAbraham1 8 ай бұрын
@@ivanfilatov7913 aria sounded with a resemblance of like the KEF powered small bookshelf speakers. It is not bad at all, it gives a good image but for the size of the speakers of aria, i would expect for heft and more enveloping sound that did not exist, further more. It was not more exiting than the bookshelf powered KEF other than the looks. The HDI3600 was very live the imaging was been spreaded evenly in a forgiving of axis from center you can listen for hours with a smile . There was no harshness at all. The only downside was that the low mid bass was a tiny bit missing. But i would still get it because these speakers sound so good for my taste. The difference from HDI3600 to those speakers i wrote are so different from each other you can Easley tell with your eyes closed. Hands down, JBL HDI3600 is truly remarkable. Thank you for JBL synthesis engineers and keeping the price a tiny bit attainable if could afford.

Those S’s you’re referring to - that break the illusion of the soundstage. Do you feel that they were harsh? Sizzling your eardrums harsh? I’ve recently been living with a pair of audiophile speakers. Having come from RF-7 III’s I’m quite shocked to say these particular speakers, often described as “warm”, are absolutely shredding my eardrums. So I’m looking for something that is basically the RF-7 III with some additional audiophile refinement and nice thick mid-band and mid bass bunch. The RF-7 III’s are almost my perfect speaker - but they have a suck out around 1k and leave some of that audiophile transparency on the table. That’s why I’m interested in these JBL’s, but definitely trying to avoid sizzling eardrums. I’m actually beside myself that I’m saying that my Klipsch are not as harsh as the audiophile speakers I have…. And PS - great great breakdown. This is the type of information people need access to.
@phetmoz
@phetmoz 2 жыл бұрын
harsh S's, consonants, are remedied to great effect by having a tube amp, or a laid back class A amp. The choice of dac is also very important, R2R is nice. Lastly, the source or streaming platform is absolutely paramount. To quench sharpness further, I strongly strongly recommend Amarra Luxe. Shitty interface but hugely enjoyable organic sound. One last thing - to not have much speaker toe-in.. duh :)

Neumann, neu part is pronounced as noi, as in noise..., good to see you finally doing this professionally and representative with the microphone system that I recommended that you use, incidentally, don’t know why though, he usually gets called Dave in the professional world, watch some Christian Henson Music videos, this is one of the men behind Spitfire Audio, Labs and Piano book Sample Instruments, one of the most highly respected and regarded companies in this recording field,you can download a binaural recording on piano Book Christian‘s own private piano as a Good headphone reference.please Tell your viewers that , as you call him,Randy recordings are only meant for headphone recordings but, many top producers use him for stereo and Multichannel playback mixes for playback on speakers, many recordings of Drums and pianos today have a “really in your living room” sound because of Randy/Dave or, THE Neumann.. By the way your old system would be useful when people would do the playback through their own speakers, but the elephant in the room is KZbin audio playback quality and compression algorithms...

An old method, like me, for positioning speakers, how I used to do it before I had pro measurement system, was this Place speakers at your listening position, toe them out, pointing them where you think you would like them to be roughly and then sit yourself in the wished for speaker position, move yourself about, an office chair on wheels adds to the fun, wherever the Bass/low mid sounds best to you is roughly the best starting position for the speakers, a bit of role reversal...... People will think you are mad but it does work, especially if you the start using a laser pointer to get your toes equal 🦶

I picked up a pair. Grey oak veneer. Quality speaker! Heavy and solid. If you ever have a look at the crossover, encourage you to post an addendum. What is inside? Quality of caps? Wire? Resistors, Inductors. It would be interesting to know how to make great into super. Also, proper disassembly procedure would be awesome, with the flush mount driver covers and delicate nature of the real wood veneer, a lot of care needs to be taken with these.

Nice content. Wouldn't mind becoming a contributor, but I won't give money to Patreon or Paypal for ethical reasons, there are quite a few people who are in the same position. So unless you set up an alternative....

@@Newrecordday2013 Paypal is just as bad I'm afraid. I won't use either of those companies.

Hi, I live in Mexico, I don't speak English properly, I like your channel, I'm a fan of Harman equipment, I currently own a Revel Performa3 F206, do you think it would be worth changing them for a JBL HDI 3600? What are better? I also take this opportunity to ask, how much improvement is there between the Revel Performa F226Be and the JBL HDI 3600? Greetings.
