the ultimate has much better midrange quality which you wont get with the two 710s though, thats why i bought a 710 and TWO 310s (310s have the best midrange of any partybox excluding the ultimate) and connected all 3, the sound is much better in mids now and is comparable to the ultimate

310s have good punchy bass too, so i use my 310s on bass boost 2 and my pb710 on bass boost 1 for the low bass

The dimensions will be a little bigger and taller than the 710 but not tower speaker look like the 1000. In sound quality, the bass will be even more and now they have added midrange driver with the same tweeter. So it will be better and louder than any partybox (they claim 40%)

Don't let the Ultimate fool you...on JBL sight now. Says it can push out to 1100 watts but in reality, it only pushes out 300 watts. It will be louder in terms of volume, mids and tweets but the 310, 710 and 1000 all have bass boost, the ultimate doesn't. Not worth it
