For those who keep saying this isnt a passive radiator and its a subwoofer. peakers produce sounds by vibrating air molecules. A passive radiator uses the internal pressure geneated by the speaker inside the sealed encloser and specifically weighted to only react to the lower frequency sounds thus vibrating the air adding support to the low frequencys. This is not a subwoofer there is no magnet structure or power being run to it. Do research before you make foolish statements on the internet.
@demonclub70505 жыл бұрын
I new that passive radiators werent. A sub but all the other stuff is new
@ashlysherief38505 жыл бұрын
I think the purpose of passive radiator is to make the speaker waterproof. A ported speaker will get flooded when submerged in water. But with radiators, the speaker would be fully sealed and also allows the woofers to move freely without too much internal pressure..
@demonclub70505 жыл бұрын
@@ashlysherief3850 I passive raditor and a think that makes it seem ported with out it being ported alot of stuff us it its not just for waterproofing
@HybridBell5 жыл бұрын
@@ashlysherief3850 Passive radiators effectively "increase" the amount of low end produced by small drivers in a small enclosure. Ported enclosures require twice the internal volume. Radiators are used in small speakers for this reason. Bass produced is also more accurate and cleaner bass response due to the active drivers utilizing the internal sealed volume as an "air cushion spring" to push back on.

"...don't try this at home...' Too late man, too late 😂 Ok, my tip: take an old speaker that fits the hole, but do not connect it to the amplifier. It has to be airtight so if you see a slit or hole, use silicone kit or hot glue to seal it off. Be aware not to violate the integrity of the cone (best cone would not be paper but plastic or space maturial) -- When you close it up and play music, it will act as a passive radiator - but only as long as the whole speakerunit is airtight. Even the smallest hole will make the radiator defunkt. BTW I think that's actually how someone got the idea in the first place ;-) Good luck!
