It depends on what you are looking for. They both sound good, but the extreme is louder and more punchy. A more party sound. I think the Sony has a deeper, richer sound overall. It is a personal preference. If you listen to rock and metal then The Sony all day but if you listen to more dance and hip hop songs then JBL might be better for you.

Have you done the test trying to tweak the EQ to be the best for the speaker and music, and comparing them that way? I would love to hear the best these speakers can be - also I am not sure if you have Megabass on/off in these tests.
