The fact the battery is replaceable and can used while "plugged in" to me, are the most amazing features. I have the Soundcore Boom Plus and I love this speaker but I hate the fact it is a disposable speaker but this will take care of that problem. Thank you JBL! @MarC-ot5gl you don’t think the removable battery is a gimmick? when jbl doesn’t make and or sell the battery…we are stuck with a brick. Or change battery models/styles. The battery was ALWAYS exchangeable. It was a tough to switch out as add memory to a PS5. Now jbl has the ability to block it. An observation before seeing battery sales in action.

Uncle Flossy I did an experiment and I highly recommend it to you! I was in a flight and had my QC II for noise cancelling purposes, then I put my Anker Q45 on top of it so double ANC! The result were unreal and I couldn't hear ANYTHING! I HIGHLY suggest you make a video for this experiment to make the ultimate ANC video

Ive hade my Xtreme 3 for 2 years, my "L" on the JBL logo starting to peel off, and my shoulder strap clamp broke, I just carry it by hand now lol but it still sound Amazing, I use it heavily, throw it on my forklift, and jam hard on weekends. JBL has the best portable speakers on earth. I can't find one thing wrong with it.

I could tell thru video the referb on the extreme 3 was noticable, where the extreme 4 sounded crisper in vocals. Also sounds crisper in vocals then the UE... JBL did it again!

@FlossyCarter with every feature you showcase on this speaker the more and more I know: listening to your video on my Charge 5s would sound oh so much better with Extremes. I think its a must at this point. You persuaded me into jumping on the WH1000-XM3 before it took off in popularity [and price]. Considering how amazing 2 Charge 5s are, even at full volume, a pair of Extreme 4 is a must. Love your vids btw, always a stellar presentation!

Have the Xtreme 1 and 2 and honestly this sounds the same as them..same loudness same amount of bass.bit dissapointed expected more from a 2024 jbl speaker..but i still love jbl forever

There are good measurements showing it is not the same. But indeed, the performance is very incremental. Though there is not much to do for the money with this design. Speaker transducers do not evolve that fast.

On the jbl xtreme series, jbl did something I didn't like if you ask me! With each new firmware update, the sound quality could change and it didn't always improve, but since people focused a lot on BASS, it was often the ones they got in each update. You never got an equalizer that you could adjust since it then goes beyond the sale of newer xtrem speakers. Extrem 2 and 3 and 4 was ONLY a firmware update! Xtreme 2 could have been as good as 3 if JBL had updated the firmware and adjusted the eq. correct! The Xtreme 1 does not have as good a tweeter as the 2 and 3 have.
