From 2.8 to 2.0 is a full stop. It's huge in terms of lens speed. It doubles the amount of light coming into the sensor.

@16:00 you state that DJI will implement a dual native ISO, thus improving dynamic range. Dual native ISO does not improve dynamic range. It provides a second gain stage that is more or less equivalent in noise performance to the lower base gain stage. Conversely, Dual Gain Output (the technology I believe you are thinking of) improves dynamic range by simultaneously capturing two exposures, one at a lower ISO setting and another at a higher ISO setting. These signals are then combined to provide an optimized image with improved dynamic range. Arri, Canon and Panasonic all utilize this technology.

Ordered Air 3S directly from DJI store on 11/12. Delivered on my doorstep 3 days later by DHL on 11/15. Had an accident and needed repair through Express Basic service. Shipped on 12/8 and a new 3S unit was received on 12/19. No knock-and-talks from the feds or stupid letters.

for me the change from 24mm to 28mm is critical for architectural photography. Often I don't have the space to move back to fit the whole building in, maybe another building in the way. Or you just want to limit the distance away from subject because of safety. You can of course pano stitch, but this is JPEG only (I think), but also if moving subject is the frame the pano will require editing.

@@MrBalockaye 22mm-24mm would be great, but i think the Air series has fixed aperture, so a) shallower depth, b) would always need ND filters for video during daytime. Rumours say 2 versions may be coming. So one could be 24mm and other 28? Maybe the 28mm is more for cinema video, just a guess.

The actual ISO values for the dual native ISO will vary depending on what mode/profile is being used. Do you know if the quoted dual natives at 400 ISO / 1600 ISO are in full D-Log? D-Log M? Standard profile? It would make sense for that to be in full on D-Log.

I just had a flyaway incident with the mini four pro. I had the replacement within a week that was late October. I also ordered the air 3S early November and got it within a week - zero trouble. So unless this is a more recent issue than that, I’m confused why others are having their drones stopped by customs being that I just ordered two direct from DJI with no problem.

Better image quality, better active track, but the lidar I would say is a little bit helpful, but still almost crashed the drone after hitting a cable that I didn't see in the controller. Luckily it caught it self and regained control.

Thanks man. Since they wont give us a sensor size upgrade the aperture change will have to do lol. but at least that will be helpful through the range. I hate the 100mp split pixel scam but eh well what can we do (might be why they did the aperture change to offset the lowlight hit from the "fake" 100mp. The split pixel might be what keeps me from buying it right out of the gate like i had planned to do on release date, but I will eventually upgrade within a few months of release for the new battery power and the other new goodies they've given us. The F2 will help tremendously and the dual ISO will be interesting to see how it works with the photo side of things at night. Hopefully the lens will have improved some. I generally never shoot wide open during the day on bright days or otherwise and usually shoot around 5.6-6.3 for my best results image wise.. It will be nice to have the electronic ND especially on bright days so we're not at f9-f11 shooting video. The vertical video will be cool for us old guys that have not embraced it yet (I rarely make reels for clients but this may change my offerings for the instagram/FB marketing). I usually only shoot 4k and deliver in 4k although i occasionally shoot 5.1k/50 and export in 4k. Cheers brother and i hope they sneak some other cool stuff in

I went to Best Buy the other day and asked when they were getting the new drones. the guy didn't know but he guessed that maybe by the first week of January. he only guessed that because he heard that in the next week they were going to update the dji display aisle so that usually means a new product is coming in. 🤷‍♂

We gotta stop taking the claimed MP as real because all it is, is some in camera trickery upscaling the image. Same in the AIR3S, same in the Mini 4 Pro. It will not be native a 100MP sensor… nevertheless I’m so excited for the new 4 Pro. The AIR3S has my Mavic 3 Pro collecting dust :(

I live in North Carolina. I was able to order a fly more Air 3S from the DJI website 2 days ago. It shipped from Hong Kong and arrived today. I did find the checkout process worked inconsistently on my iPad versus my laptop .

Going to 28mm makes it easier to achieve the larger f2 aperture, but never loved the look of this focal length when they utilized it years ago. Honestly the 22mm on Air2S prob been my fav focal length. Love the look with the slightly wider but not too beserk Def a trade off.

I ordered a DJI Avata 2 from the DJI store. I was notified by DHL that the package was held up by US Customs. Then I got a few more emails from DHL that the drone was still being held. They I got the “contact DJL. After the drone was “seized” by customs and they could not do anything about the package and it would not be delivered. I called DJI and they apoligised and offered a refund or to “try to send it again but it would take 2-3 weeks” so I picked that option. So we will see what happens to this try. If it gets seized I guess I will ask for a refund. I did not get any information on email of regular mail. Customs apparently doesn’t have a phone number to dispute this either. It’s all BS because they couldn’t get the NDAA language passed.

I was able to get one at Adorama. I was trading in an old body and I asked the fellow I was speaking with if they had any or we’re getting any and he said sporadically and he said they had one in stock so I bought it. A fellow I know here in Texas that has a commercial drone business told me customs wanted him to pay them money for something. I am unsure what for My cousin does international law. I asked him what it meant as it stands. He said it would cover anything that uses wireless technology, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth I would take that to me, wireless microphones and cameras.

I'm not impressed. The other new features are 'nice' but the most important thing is the camera module. If DJI wishes to continue down the smartphone rabbithole and dumb down the extra 70mm and 166mm cameras then I'm out. It it pointless for me in having to compromise on quality because I want to shoot at a different focal length. I don't do it with my mirrorless camera system and I won't do it with a drone. Not to mention the limitations on not being able to use true LOG profiles on these cameras which in turn messes with my colour grading workflow in post. Give me three identical M4/3 cameras or just give me one APS-C sensor.
