Hello, I have a question regarding a Tissot watch, maybe you can help me. I want to buy this watch " Tissot Le Locle Gold Automatic ". I've found this watch with 2 different mechanisms: 1. ETA 2824 Calibre 2. Powermatic 80 Which one is better ? I understood that Powermatic 80 is a newer mechanism. Also is a big difference at the prices in my country. Powermatic 80 is more expensive than ETA 2824 Calibre. For which one should I go ? Many thanks

Thanks for watching! I never knew they made one with an ETA movement. I'd say, they are both probably good. The powermatic 80 movement beats slower and has an longer power reserve. It's up to you.

@@TheTownWatch Practically there are 2 watches that look exactly the same, have the same design etc, le cocle gold automatic which comes with ETA2824-2 and le cocle gold powermatic 80. Only the name and the mechanisms are different, but the looks 99% same watch. Also the one with ETA is cheaper with like 150$.

I've bought some watches from DH Gate and they weren't too bad with the way they looked. You can tell that the insides are poorly put together. A Powermatic 80 doesn't tick like a quartz! 😁 Having said that, most people don't know the difference between quartz and automatic and, to be fair, for $26, that's an extremely well-done fake. For $26, 99% of people won't know that it's not a fake and while a watch enthusiast would feel bad about wearing a fake, most people wouldn't even know that it was a fake, let alone care.

When one sees 1:1 next to each other, it is easy to spot fake, it is easier if one can touch and feel - but during booming online deals, risk is much, much bigger - so there must be some option to "gray list" sellers who distribute fakes. 😄 Brilliant. I enjoyed the acting - good job. Very amusing! There are a lot of fake Tissot watches out there. I got conned by an eBay seller in February this year. I bought what I thought was a genuine PRS516 automatic - silver dial. He advertised it as genuine but when it arrived, I spotted some slight errors with the logo spacing and a few other small details. It was a very well made replica - so many eBay sellers listing these for sale. Not good, but videos like yours help to make people more aware. Well done.

Good video, although I suspect most people will buy the better fakes, there are some good ones out there(Chinese ETA copy movement). Seems like a lot of people are asking not so much "Is this a fake", but rather "how convincing a fake is it?". But I hope people heed your message about not a buying a fake at all! God Bless!

Honestly unless they are right next to each other, and you are a watch expert, the average person wouldn't know the difference. You would really have to be educated or watch this video to know. 95% of the people will just see the name and immediately think it's real.
