We still have to know this process for the dental hygiene licensing exam despite not learning this in school as our clinics are totally digital. Thank you for showing the process, actually seeing the steps helps me to better understand what manual processing involves.

I used to perform this process for the USAF in the NDI lab, I can practically do this with my eyes closed, you can't really see anything in a dark room with only a weak red light. Check the developed film for the propper density in the area of interest and run a calculation to re-shoot the part if need be.

Thanks for posting this! I'm studying for my VTNE and have never had the "opportunity" to use film radiographs (dig only). You should charge so much for having to do that!!

I don't have any of the castrol strips or the berthold penetrameter, I do however have a gauss meter and a black and white like check video. No problem, you can check out the penetrant video to see the black and white light checks Thanks Joe

Dear Sir, only we can use the film in the direct room and we do not want the light of the light. We use light without any light, you can use OpenLine or Fake Video.

Do you still need to alter the dev times for different film types with this process, or can they all be processed together as a batch of mixed films?

@Cowleyelearning
@Cowleyelearning 5 жыл бұрын
Sir, these chemicals are not harmful as you can reference the SDS sheets for them, however if you don't like the smell of the chemicals you can get some natural based chemicals now that have a much better smell.

You would be correct, we just use that in our lab as the baseline and then once we know the temp of the water we can calculate the change in time from there.

I don't know who manufactured that tank. I would say that you can call a NDT distributor like Venture Technical Sales and they can point you in the right direction. Thanks Joe

@kludgeaudio 9 жыл бұрын
I saw so many of those tanks sent in for metal recycling a decade ago.... I have probably seen a dozen sheet film systems with nitrogen burst agitation dumped and even more manual systems. Most of what I have seen have been the Testrite tanks but a lot of folks had homemade ones made by a local welder, or the big hard rubber ones that Kodak sold back in the fifties and sixties. I doubt anyone is still making them but it would not be too difficult to have a welding shop run you up some from 416 stainless.
@Cowleyelearning
@Cowleyelearning 9 жыл бұрын
+kludgeaudio Pretty much, I really like the metal tanks, it's just easier to control the chemicals that way!

Shouldn't that film -- freeze(Brr)? Extreme opposites - hence; bypaszdd literally. Because; cold - is rooted in, demolition tubes. CH'mmz'! Never chemistry. Or Cc' - ship controllerz. You need - corrupt heaters.

1 minute of wash will not wash out the fixer, your x-ray will not be archive quality. Five years later it will be destroyed. So if archivability is necessary, wash longer. (E.g. German law requires to archive every X-ray for 10 years.) Why not showing the process in red light? You dont develop X-ray film in complete darkness.
