Fun little run with some lovely British chaps in a 992 RS - Spa is probably one of the worst tracks for that car with the long straights and not too many corners where the downforce makes up time. On some tracks I wouldn't be able to see where the 992 went pretty quickly..
Unfortunately I killed the RS's windscreen in the end when I went wide and clipped one of the notorious Spa gravel traps.
992 on well used Cup 2R, my car on well used Trofeo R.

You have very good skills and it looks really fast. The 992 Gt3 it is a masterpice! So going so close in a 991.2 gt3 manual is more than impressive!

That GT3 is heavily modified... the driver is it's heaviest modification.

people say, you can’t be quick with an involving and emotional manual gearbox and you need to have one of these „awesome and modern“ automatic gearboxes. you every time: „hold my beer“ 😂💪🏻👌🏻

Hey - top notch driving there! One comment, your upshifts sounds quite different than mine (also a 991.2 manual). Mine sort of ”pops” a little, when I press the clutch, due to that I keep my foot planted so the ecu is cutting the spark (and maybe the fuel). Do you not use that feature (no lift shift)? I am just curiuos because the sound was so different.

I no lift shift most of the time, I dont hear too many pops although video taken outside the car there are quite audible pops during the shift. Gopros don't have the best sound either I suppose

@@JCviggen1 ok, thanks! Guess as you say it’s a matter of audio quality in the recording. The feature with NLS is nice, I think, I use it also on the road from time to time.

It's all fun and games until the point the GT3 RS almost outbrakes himselfs at the end of Kemmel Straight. He could have just lifted earlier but no he wanted to be a hero xD Awesome video nonetheless :D

Yeah, I was watching the mirror and was prepared to go straight on if needed but an RS does stop pretty well... better than my car anyway so I would not try to be on the inside line in my car :D

In contrast to the above, Spa, with its many fast corners, is a real downforce track. A 992 GT3 RS can be driven there well under 2:35. Anyway, nice video!

Spa is a power track not a DF track, perhaps the most so apart from Monza (in the wider area) I plan to do at least 33s in my manual GT3 this year, though finding a clear lap is hard. Even the 911 turbo cars are faster here than the GT3s and RSs and they have no downforce to speak of. On the Nordschleife for example its a totally different story in terms of relative performance where the RS cars blow everything away

It seems that the real battle was with the other white gt3 - although it appeared to be the same car / 991.2, his car seemed to out accelerate in the straights. Is this due to pdk vs manual in your car?

yeah it's just different view points, first on board the 991.2 then the video switches to 992. The RS was a bit later on the throttle out of corners but also just suffers at high speed from the drag of the big rear wing. The 992RS has an official top speed of "only" 296 km/h while my manual GT3's is 320 km/h...

I did buy a used set of MR, will have them rebuilt and put on the car but I am not expecting a big improvement. If you can deal with the slightly vague and unsettled feeling of the stock PASM it is still very fast.

Great driving! Your GT3 is really fast on straight line compared to the 992 RS, I perfectly understand the big wing actually penalized it but didn't imagine so much! Is your GT3 stock engine wise? Thanks for sharing great content!

Thanks! Yeah still stock but that will change soon 😄 The RS had a (not large) passenger which makes a bit of difference also I imagine

@@saugmotor Probably headers and ecu remap to match the RS mapping (GT3 is down 25hp mostly due to programming)

@@lomnt3402 True that, I will add silencing exhaust tips to the stock muffler and see if it passes... I have some experience from my 718 GT4 in getting the noise down

The RS is the faster car with a cautious or lesser good driver.

991 generation gt3 is faster than 992 cars on straight line. New cars are down on power. Not really 500hp

They make the power on the dyno but they have much bigger wings on them..

@@JCviggen1not really. Dynos are shit 991 make more power at mid rev range and low rev range. On the top is similar but this is not enough
