It made no sense that he lost. I mean the amount of hits that Lee gave him, plus the speed at which he was hit to the ground in the final blow, and a little bit of sand cushioned his fall and he's fine? Then after the match, he doesn't even have a scratch. If he's that strong he should be doing the Hokage exams instead of the chuunin exams

In the future, Rock Lee will probably be considered a living legend for the sole fact that he pushed Gaara to "Plot no Jutsu" and kicked his ass in front of so many important witnesses. The horrible fact is that Lee would have destroyed ANYONE else in the tournament.

Well Neji wasn't really pissed because only Lee was able to learn the Lotus. Since Neji was unable to do it, Guy would never tell him about the Hidden Lotus.

Yeah, it looks like Guy really liked training them in a group and Neji was aware of the Primary lotus considering Lee was keeping the hidden lotus as a trump card because the Primary one wasn't enough to beat Neji. I'm guessing unlike Gaara, in their training, Neji's honed reaction time and Byakugan rendered approaching a lot harder for Lee because it wasn't just defensive moves but potentially lethal counterattacks and he's always come out on top in there training. With Guy must have disallowed him from use of all those techniques and later Gates behind the stipulation that he can only use them in situations he deems are appropriate too, for Neji's safety lol. After all, Neji probably never got hit by the final blow of primary lotus so anything above that could've potentially been too much taking those final blows into account. Lee must have figured that Guy would allow him to once again go all out in the final rounds.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that the team captains are also in charge of training their student members, this is not the case as most of the characters are trained by their respective clan or assigned trainers for their style of fighting. Guy was the team captain but also Rock lee's trainer so it makes sense, captains typically train them on how to work with their teammates, complete missions assigned by the hokage and defend their villages people and secrets

In order to use the Hidden Lotus, you have to be able to open the first gate and Lee was the only one on his team to be able to learn this skill. Neji and Tenten failed to learn it.

Well Neji himself is a genius. He has his own ways to train and to improve. Since he's from Hyuga the Lotus Jutsu/Guy's Taijutsu style isnt that effective to him. Sure he can be like Lee, but he focuses more into Gentle fists. On the other hand (Spoiler) Kakashi trained Sasuke way more than Naruto.

They don't consider the idea that people who go through peak physical training like Rock Lee and Guy can only perform the eight gates and withstand its effects. I assume that the amount of effort one needs to put towards attaining a body capable enough to do the 8 gates wouldn't make it feasible for you to learn ninjutsu or genjutsu. Neji is someone who can be happy with his own techniques. The only person I can imagine to be a good fit for the 8 gates other than the bushy brow duo is Naruto himself (due to his rapid healing and hardworking personality) and I am actually surprised that Naruto didn't even think about learning it.

If were looking this as a human being, it is true that guy being 'unfair' to neji, teached rock lee a forbidden jutsu tu keep him up as stronger as neji (or even more), but considering that fact neji was a hyuga clan that have special dojutsu byakugan and knewed as a genius, instead of rock lee who is 'good for nothing', not capable to perform ninjutsu or taijutsu, the eigth gates technique is the only way to make him stronger, so his hardwork and determination that he spent all of his time to become 'another type of genius' finally paid off 💪🏻

Guy was teaching the primary lotus to the whole team but only Lee could master it. Without the primary lotus you can't activate the hidden lotus. So Guy didn't really give Lee special treatment. The other two just didn't have to potential to unlock it.

I always been convinced and still am, that If lee would NOT have used to lotus or opened the gates, he would win. If he would have keept attacking gaara with his amazing speed, gaara would have to keep using the sand armor and run out of chakra.
