I think it was gran turismo 4 that had the NSX RR. I used it to make a Ferrari enzo build as the game didn’t have Ferrari at the time. It was one of the best handling cars in the game, I loved it. I gave it Enzo hp, weight and weight balance, and as similar of a suspension setup as the game would let me. It was fun.

There is a reason they couldn't simply fit the sequential gearbox, and it's way more complicated than just the cost of a gearbox. The Longitudinal NSX-GT race cars had the engine in backwards with the output facing towards the firewall. A shaft then extended forward from the clutch and drove sequential 6-speed positioned on its side next to the driver. The gearboxes output shaft then exited the upper half of the gearbox toward the rear and traveled right through the V of the engine block where the water tube and water pump would normally be. The shaft went past the engine to a separate rear differential mounted just behind the engine. This setup requires HEAVY modifications to the factory cylinder block, as well as a dry sump oil system to position the engine low enough. It also requires a completely custom external coolant pump and plumbing. The whole setup was quite incredible.

FWIW, the RR never ran, was just a showpiece, and was destroyed by Mugen at Honda’s request sometime before 2010. Also, the turbo Le Mans NSXs used a longitudinal layout/sequential trans. so that format was done before though they had quite a bit of reliability problems.

The NSX RR was an homologation special. It was only produced so Honda could still compete in the GT500 class. I remember reading an article about this car in Car and Driver a long time ago. What I didn't know was that they were never sold to the public. I always wondered why I never saw any owners talking about their NSX RR on youtube.

As a big NSX fan and having owned 2 of them in the past (NA1 and NA2), all I can say is man that NSX RR is ugly AF!
