OMG, the memories. My buddy bought one off of a retired couple. 1992 Acura NSX with the 5 speed Manual. It sat in their garage for 12 years. He handed him $25,000 in cash because it only had 12,000 miles on it. After two years of building it, it was a monster. Since he owned a machine shop, he built his own 90 mm turbo. He built his own titanium exhaust system. He even fabbed his own hubs so that he can tuck a 325 rear tire. Put some Lambo hinges on it and painted it in what looks like Vantablack with blacked out windows and did Tan English Leather on the Interior with double satin stitching. It was an absolutely gorgeous car. $25,000 for the car and $50,000 in upgrades. It was the fastest car I've ever driven. It would rocket to 100 mph in no time flat, it was like it never stopped accelerating. We took it to Sears Point in Sonoma and it was just easy to drive, superfast, responded amazingly under braking. This guy in the paddock walked up to him and offered him $450,000 and he sold it right then an there. We got a rental car and drove home and my buddy was heartbroken. He made a ton of money but was sad to not be able to drive it ever again. Edited for typos

Her reply was simply: "it felt good, was affordable as a fast car and never let her down."

100% agree. I personally think that the problem with the NSX wasn't from the car itself. Rather than the people who could afford to buy them due to dealerships jacking the prices up. They preferred to buy a Ferrari or a Lambo because they were wanting to be Sonny Crockett from Miami Vice or Magnum PI. Most people who can afford fast cars they aren't that interested in driving they just wanna show off.

This is the reason the 1990 NSX was so special, they put so much care and engineering into this car, while still being VERY competitively priced. The new NSX just doesnt feel anything like it and everyone already seems to have forgotten it even existed.

Get with the times people its 2022 i would hope that car companies take advantage of and utilize modern technology when engineering new models. What do want for them to produce a modern day NSX using 90s technology, if so it will never compete with its competition for sale. @chakalabradores2 жыл бұрын
yes, these 3 cars are pure legends, and there are the "Japanese National Treasures of Cars"
@stevenfarrington23612 жыл бұрын
The point is that the NSX is not like those cars. The Nissan 300ZX & R32 Skyline GTR, the Mitsubishi 3000 GT, the Supra - all those are relatively conventionally built cars using twin turbos to overcome excessive weight. The aluminium chassis and body of the NSX meant it could be normally aspirated and use VTEC to rev to 9 creating sufficient horsepower to match anything from Japan and Europe. The NSX is unlike anything except the McLaren F1 just as the new NSX is like a cheaper Porsche 918 Spyder.
@DavidFPV3602 жыл бұрын
@@stevenfarrington2361You're 100% right with that but I'd still say that more non-car enthusiasts would still recognize a Supra or a GTR over an NSX, therefore they (for me personally as a non professional car lover ) are equal by status.
@raphy62 жыл бұрын
Those are sports cars though, the NSX is a supercar, not the same car at all when you have them side by side just saying.

The nsx was on another league compared to the gtr and supra of that era. Numbers alone, yes nsx was down on power but its engineering and formula was greater or even at par with the Italians that purely made supercars, just as the video stated. They decided to go head to head with them big boys and succeeded. If they wanted to just compete in their domestic market, they could have just made another front-engined car, slapped turbskie and just called it a day.
