The pendent next to the swimming medal is a graduation medal made by the Royce company. I don't know what age, but I am sure it is graduation.

That 3-ringer bullet appears to be a union army bullet, probably dropped rather than fired, civil war era.

At 23:19, I think it is a pewter top that would have gone on a crystal tall vase and it was a hat pin holder.

Would love to see the coins all cleaned up in a smaller pic during the dig if you can do that...There are other channels that do this but they spend WAAAAAY too much time admiring the found treasure and not digging...just a few quick shots of the cleaned up treasure as you show us the dug specimen would be awesome....one of the reasons I watch your videos..you show what you find then get back to it...we don't spend 5 minutes of you showing us something dirty and crusted we can not see..LOL Keep up the great work!!
@JDsVarietyChannel8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! On my newly released videos I do the quick pictures on cleaned up good finds directly following the dig (less than 2 seconds per pic), and sometimes just a very short wrap up depending on what was found and if I need to mention anything. The older reposts get edited a little differently depending on the content. And from time to time I always try something different. But yeah, I know exactly what you mean, the 30 minute+ videos where you only see a few finds are really a drag. The videos I'll be putting the most effort into are the "JD's Big Adventure" series. So keep an eye out for those. :)

yes, silver quarters are getting harder and harder to find...i'm thinking the lots and ground in all cities and towns are being picked over. i'm find 10 to 15 silver dimes per every quarter, used to be about 3 to 4 when i first started. Used to be 4 to 5 wheats would get me a silver...now it's more like 25 wheats before i strike silver. i'm depleting the city i live near.

That shell casing next to the three ringer isn't a 50 cal. It's a 30-06 case.

Correct. This video is from quite a while back when I still didn't know much about shell casings. :)

Yeah man, it's fun! You can get 10% off almost every detector KellyCo has on their website if you use my code "jdvariety" when you call in your order. It's a great arrangement I've been able to work out for my subscribers. :)

Sweet ill give it a go on payday any idea what i should get?
@JDsVarietyChannel8 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you're looking to spend. The #1 beginner detector I recommend is the Fisher F22, it runs $229 and is great for the price. I wouldn't recommend anything cheaper as you will probably get a machine that doesn't work very well. One of my personal favorites is the Teknetics T2, which runs $499, and it's great for beginners or experts. That's the machine I currently use on the majority of my new videos. If you go to my KZbin homepage and watch the recent uploads for the "JD's Big Adventure" series you'll see that machine a lot. :)

Can't you use a soft bristle toothbrush to clean your coins and other finds?

That's usually fine. Just not on silver coins as it will leave fine scratches. :)

Nothing is more frustrating than to hear you say "only a wheat penny" or "only a Rosie" without hearing the date until later. Don't be selfish, tell date when, and where, you find it so we can know the spot it was found.
