His X Factor audition was the most heartbreaking, emotional, and gut wrenching performance I have ever watched. Till this day, I still can’t watch that clip without breaking down. During that audition when Simon started crying as well, because he was thinking of his own mom who had passed shortly prior to that audition, it was all over for me and I completely lost it. There wasn’t a dry eye in the arena that night. Ever since, whenever I hear the original song by Labyrinth on the radio, I immediately think of that audition. Josh, I am truly so sorry for the loss of your best friend, but you did him proud that night, that’s for sure.

I showed my daughter who is in her 40’s the X Factor of Josh singing Jealous video that made Simon cry. Then later in the day I told her I was reading in the comment section of Labryinth singing his song that some had to write an essay on Celina’s version on AGT, Josh’s version on X Factor, and Labryinth’s. I said to her the person made the comment that Josh’s version made her cry. She responded “everybody cries”. I honestly believe Josh singing Jealous at the X factor auditions made the song famous. No one would have heard of it otherwise. Just like Whitney singing “I’ll always love you”. Dolly Parton wrote and sang the song. It took for Whitney to sing it to make it what it is today.

Jay that's what people do. Not saying that he's bad in either. Just the X Factor is where most people heard him first, it touched the heart deeply that day. I watched it and cried like a baby. I thought of my sister who died. This version is good, he is an awesome young man and singer. But people do compare, just the way it is. I love both but perfer the Xfactor.

This is a public forum, I'm backing up some other people's opinions & adding a few constructive comments Yes, this version is low on energy and I'm adding too heavy on the piano, its drowning out Josh's vocals. Where was the sound engineer for THAT! The XFactor version definitely burys this version. Where is the passion? What is happening to the few naturally talented singers? They go into the recording studio, get micromanaged by their record label and their creative talent is snuffed. This is why Prince had his war with record exec's, a lawsuit, and changed his name, created his own company, etc. To remain pure, not artsy or stiffled... I love Josh Daniel's sound but not on the studio recording of this song.Giving one's opinion on a public site does NOT make one a "hater" if comments are constructive and respectful, it's an opinion page.

The Factor X version is the best of all, including the original interpreter. It has really made me cry every time I listen to it. My mother passed away and I really hope that she is very happy where she is, even if she is there without me, but I understand that she deserved to rest. It breaks my heart to be without her.

This song means everything to me. I have an illness that has no cure or treatment options (that work) it causes 24/7 pain, 12 years and not one day has been pain free. I can't tell you how many friends have died and all died in different ways, my very best friend that had this as well passed away in march (I can't really say) and I have been a complete mess. Before the passing of my friend this song made sense to me, all in one year,4 months apart my husband and I lost his dad,4 months later my step dad,and 4 months after that my mom passed away. Day in and day out all day I deal with pain most people could not handle, music is a huge part of a coping mechanism for me, but I am jealous because the ones I would run to on my painful days are all gone now, I turned to drawing to help me continue to cope with all of this pain, both physical and emotional. Thank you for the special version

Hits such a sensitive spot. Have listened to this song a hundred times. My 20 year old got involved with a rich girl to whom he is getting married. Got a whole new affluent life. Her mother has become his mother and I am now redundant. And after he left home to live closer to his girlfriends family, I cleaned out his room and found a note from the girlfriends mother "God has given me a son". I went to his university graduation (he gets two tickets) and saw him arrive with the girl's mother. And after the ceremony, as I saw him drive off into the distance with this girl's mother I burst into tears . He's not interested in having any contact with me any more. Twenty years ago, his father did the same thing when he got a new life with someone more glamorous. "I wish you the best that all this life can give". (And tearfully) "you're happy without me" We had a lovely 20 years together, but I no longer exist in his life. :'(

Gosh, that was 4 years ago. He did marry this girl, and has purchased his own house and is now in medical school. And is happy in his affluent glamorous life without me. I got invited to his wedding. There were 200 guests and 14 people at the bridal table including 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, her parents, her parent's two closest friends. I was tucked away at a side table with the photographer and videographer - and lots of incidents like this informed he had moved on. A couple of years ago, we briefly met up and he told me when I got old that he would find me a really nice nursing home. And another time that I briefly saw him, he told me that he would pay for a really nice funeral for me after I died. And I just realized I had to stop hoping he would come back to me. He meant these comments nicely. Like any death or other loss, I am getting over it 4 years on and life is getting better. It was somewhat haunting however, that his father did exactly the same thing and just dumped his children when he got a new glamorous life. My son was only 6 months old at the time so never really knew him. Thank you for your kind comment. I think, when he has his first baby, he will feel a sense of sadness that I am not there. @@Bossman_701

Thank you for this song. You sing this rendition so beautifully. This may sound so weird, but I think of my furbaby after I found out that he was not coming back to me. I miss him so much because he was the love of my life. I rescued him from a shelter, but in all actuality, I think he rescued me... from destruction. He went missing in November 2019. I found out a few months after that he passed away. I part of me died that day. I cry when I think of him. When I heard your sorry and about your best friend, I couldn't stop crying. I play this song over and over and it kills me every time because I think of Roderick, my furbaby. I know he is waiting for me. I long for that day. Thank you and continued success.

Josh Daniel... I don't know if you read these comments but I just had to say something about the arena performance. I just came across it a week ago and omg you don't know how much it opened up my eyes. I lost my mother to a drunk driver and brother a navy desert storm one veteran one to a car jacking in the same year when i was 10yrs old. I'm sad to say i really forgot about them because its much easier to move on other than face the pain I've lived with for the last 20yrs. I thank you for courage with this song it helped me to overcome my fear of really letting myself mourn and accept my loss. I interpret this song the same way as you do...may god bless you and heal you're wounds as i pray for him to heal mine. I'm plan to visit my mothers grave for the first time since my mom passed, its been along time coming and I will play this song for and finally have a good cry with her and accept the pain I've avoided for the last 20yrs...thank you so much for helping me i wish you all the best...god bless you and good luck

I first heard this song right after my sister died unexpectedly. She was my best friend..😔😔😔. I’m happy she is in Heaven, finally free from pain...but my heart is still broken. My dad died a couple of years ago...then Angie last September. My mom passed away in June, and my only other sister, Joey, died from cancer in August. In October, my brother-in-law committed suicide, because he said he couldn’t make it without Joey. I’m still struggling to grasp that my whole family has died, one by one, except for one brother, Danny. It will be 6 yrs tomorrow that I lost my 29 yr old niece due to a sudden illness. I used to call her My Little Shadow. We were always together when she was growing up. This song tears me up every time I hear it. I really do get jealous, thinking that she is with her Gramma & Poppa (my parents) & all our aunts & uncles.
