The last case the kid got 22 years, they should have forced him to disclose where the body was, before he was able to be released from prison. No body - No parole. The laws need to be changed.

They knew where the body was disposed of, in the trash bin. That's where they found the blood evidence to confirm the murder. The issue is that it is very difficult to locate anything from a landfill. The boy certainly wouldn't know where his victim ended up.

Agreed! Also, why do they assume something without proof and not bother to investigate at all right away? If they hadn't waited so long, his body likely would've been found still in the trashcan. My disposal truck runs once a week. Plenty of time for a basic investigation inquiry. I couldn't imagine my murdered child to never be recovered knowing he's in the dump like trash. My heart breaks for all these victims.

That was my thought as well. I'm assuming in the mid 90s the trash pickup was the same as in 2013 when I was in AZ. They don't handle the cans - they just drive up and the claw lift on the truck pick the cans up and dump them in the back of the truck. The only other option would be if the parents helped to dump the body somewhere else by taking the can and then bringing it back. I mean, the can was so full of blood, how could you not see that in the can when you went to place your trash in it?

Most of the garbage trucks in this area have an arm with a kind of grip/clamp that comes out the side, lift the can and dump it into the truck. The driver controls the arm from his seat. Highly likely the driver had no idea there was a body in the can.

@RMBlake007
@RMBlake007 2 жыл бұрын
Police "say that a lot" because it happens "a lot". More often then not, when a teen "goes missing", statistically, they are not dead or kidnapped, they have run away. It's sad and tragic for the few who have had something nefarious happen, but generally, these kids make it back home in 1-3 days...maybe a week. But we never hear about those kids on the news because it happens frequently, and usually the families try to keep it quiet, and there is no need for it to be "news", because the kid is home.

Jeremy is a budding serial killer. By no means should he be released. It's frightening to think that, at 13, he's capable of committing a brutal murder, cleaning up afterwards, and then concocting a story to try to get away with that murder. Think what he'd be capable of as an adult that doesn't get his way. FYI: This monster was released in 2018.

Jury finds teen guilty of murdering his schoolmate Thursday, October 15, 1998 By Tom Gibb, Post-Gazette Staff Writer CLEARFIELD -- It would have softened the hurt, Jean Pollock said, if the teen-ager accused of killing her son had shown her some emotional flicker of remorse -- maybe an apology, maybe just tears. But in nearly two hours testifying in his own defense yesterday, 17-year-old Andrew Callahan shed no tears and offered no apology. He told his story calmly, somberly, matter-of-factly. "But that's OK now," Pollock said as she stood outside the Clearfield County Courthouse late yesterday afternoon. "We won. It took a ton off my shoulders." A Clearfield County jury deliberated for 80 minutes yesterday before finding Callahan guilty of first-degree murder for killing schoolmate Micah Pollock. The conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. Pollock, a high school sophomore six days past his 16th birthday, died of a single shotgun blast between the shoulder blades last November. His body was discovered six days later, 200 yards from where he died, in a pond in a reclaimed Clearfield County strip mine. Callahan told the jury yesterday that he was, indeed, the killer. Callahan said he began smoking marijuana as a seventh-grader and finally reached a point where he routinely indulged in a menu of pills, LSD and hashish. "I usually got stoned before school," he said. "We pretty much used drugs every night." By the time he and Pollock showed up at the strip mine Nov. 5, trying to flush out grouse, he had smoked his third joint of the day and was feeling the effects of mescaline, he said. Callahan told the jury that when he fired at a grouse and missed, Pollock joked, "You couldn't hit the broad side of a barn." So, he leveled the 12-gauge shotgun at Pollock's back and pulled the trigger, he said.

Re-sentencing for convicted juvenile murderer to be held in the fall By Jeff Corcino jcorcino@theprogressnews.com Mar 8, 2019 Re-sentencing for convicted murderer Andrew Joseph Callahan, 37, of SCI-Benner, will be held sometime in late August early September. Callahan shot and killed his 16-year-old friend Micah J. Pollock of Blandburg, Cambria County, on Nov. 5, 1997 in Beccaria Township. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Callahan was 16 at the time. However, in 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Miller v. Alabama that juveniles could not be given mandatory sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole, forcing states like Pennsylvania to re-sentence juveniles who were given life in prison without the possibility of parole.

As a parent my heart goes out to the parents of the kids who killed kids… you try to protect your kids, sometimes for their own hormones and stupid decisions. To find out your child had done something that has completely ruined their lives and taken the life of an innocent person must be terrible. I just can’t fathom that any justice system would treat a child whose prefrontal cortex hasn’t yet fully developed and who is going through puberty with all its related hormonal and physical changes would be tried as an adult! No matter how angry you are that you lost your child, surely you can see that is not justice, just revenge?

Rubbish, we have these killers because of exactly your mind set.... For every bad decision you make there are consequences, killing has nothing to do with puberty, we all went through it but most of us never killed anyone... Teach your kids consequences, discipline your kida or the law will..
