Thanks for uploading. I thought someone would have done this before, but either that wasn't the case or I'd forgotten to look for a video with the score until a couple of days ago, so this upload was very timely! I've always been really fond of this work and I view it as a classic example of pretty much a one-work wonder who sadly failed to live up to his early promise - just about every other work of Francaix I've heard has disappointed me, being overly frivolous or chatty, without the sophisticated charm of this one, despite some clever incorporation of (bebop) jazz in one or two or them. Had Francaix continued in this vein and quality, he could've been if not a major composer, one to at least equal the better composers of Les Six. This composition has remarkable fluency and individuality for a 20-year-old, light, witty, deftly orchestrated and unmistakably French, but with subtlety and depth of feeling, especially in the middle two movements. While discreetly modern with its gentle influences of Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Hindemith, Francaix like Poulenc wasn't ashamed to incorporate more traditional and popular material, without the lapse into the salon and kitsch that sometimes mars the latter's music. But alas, I can't say the same for any of the later Francaix compositions (admittedly a handful) I've heard...
