... and while watching your video I was sniffing a Sagamore mini from the early 90-ies that happened to be on my desk, thinking that it too has this gasoline vibe, and then realised it's another Sieuzac but from 1986. But I never worn it so I'm not sure.

I am a huge fan of Jean-Louis Sieuzac ... what a brilliant perfumer & creator he is... he made some of my absolute favorites 🤌🤌🤌

A great perfumer indeed. Maybe one of the greatest of all times. Quality matters; not numbers. If you want a "old car" fragrance, check out Nostalgia by Santa Maria Novella: gasoline, leather, tyres... The wanted to recreate the smell of an old racing car from the Mille Miglia Race: an historic car race which took place between 1927 and 1957 in Italy, on a distance of a thousand miles (that is what Mille miglia means). J Colbourne might have tried it recently. Anyway, another excellent video by my frag friend Ramsay.

I decided to learn about some perfumers today. I didnt know who to start with so I closed my eyes while on the perfumers page on fragantica and scrolled around blindly and stopped, when I opened my eyes my mouse key landed on Jean Louis Siezac and now you uploaded a video about him. trippy

Thats the fragrance Bourdon lost the brief on that ended up giving Creed Green Irish Tweed (I think) .. Never smelled Sagamore though 🤔

Finally, here it is. Bel Ami, shaker splash bottle, vintage from 1986. I've paid it 80 euros. Ramsey you are right. The oilines of the leather is just amazing !!! I'm drinking espresso with milk and honey and I'm wearing it. Fantastic fragrance ! Now I'm very close to buy Guerlain - Samsara from 1989. Keep smelling great, and continue to learn us about this liquid art. Cheers.....

@@RamseytheRam That's right Ram. Now I'm considering to buy Roja - Fetish, to see the differences between them. But Bel Ami is so elegant fragrance ! I'm very grateful to you for your top 100 fragrances list. Guy de Maupassant would be proud to wear Bel Ami on his yacht. I've also found a full vintage bottle of Seville a l' Aube by L'artisan parfumeur (again Duchaufour) for 100 euros, and I'm buying it. Great sunset in my city. It's time for clubbing and smelling great...

Yes spot on... it is a fun exercise to play "what changes did Roja make game" but the price is steep.. but I love Fetish.. its even more valuable now that PureDistance M is discontinued 🙃

I just recently smelled and wore one of the vintage Estee Lauder Cinnabars I've had decanting for four months. It's now quite similar to Opium. I have an original 0 60ml Opium EDT too. They're 43 year old bottles.

Solid creations ,I was going out with a girl in the late 80’s and she wore opium,and poison if memory serves ,she smelled amazing for sure . My first impression on Roccabarocco Vetiver is mixed ,yes it’s a good fragrance and I enjoyed the wear it actually smells a lot better off a micro fiber cloth and the box today though,oh yeah leakage on Route,a sealed box lost 15 ml approximately anyways bit of a mood killer for sure but happy to have 35ml left kinda lol only 60 bucks so there’s that consolation cheers Rams loved the portfolio 🙏👍✌️

I smelled Opium edt at the mall and it was not like the 1977 edt version at all. Far too floral and less notes than the 1977. I ordered a sample of Opium Secrets de Parfum yesterday. I'll try that one. I did like the 1977 formulation as is but Secrets de Parfum should ge stronger.
