Jarre is one of a kind but doesn’t have a monopoly on musical genius. P.s. No one thought anyone would ever rival Mozart either until Beethoven and Wagner came along.
@netako4 жыл бұрын
That's literally the reason why Jarre made this album, it's actually based by the EDM phenomenom that had been developing since the late 1980s (it's also inspired by A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking).

I met jean Michel in 2019, 5 photos with him, one autograph on my cassette and another signature on the cover of the album “ oxygène “ that I got for my birthday in 1976, i was 10 years old and that was a present from my brother . I waited for you for hours in the cold, you came out and my dream came true. True memories never die!
@hideouslyugly4 жыл бұрын
I went to see him play in 1988, ( I think), and it was at the Victoria Docks in East London. The light show he done was amazing. He reflected images on all the buildings on the docks around that area.It was for his new album" Revolutions".I've still got the album, and the ticket, which I bought for £9.
@brunobailly70134 жыл бұрын
😊 I also received "Oxygène" on tape as a birthday present... I was a little bit older though. But the first tape I heard by him was the compilation "The Essential". In my memory, the French version was called "L'Essentiel" but I didn't find any picture of it with that name on internet so it might be my mind playing tricks on me 🤔... Anyway, it was a good introduction to Jean-Michel Jarre. I remember when Chronologie came out and especially that song... It already was a completely NEW JMJ. I actually didn't like that track. Much preferred Chronologie Part 2. I also remember him being invited at a TV show in France before this album came out... He still didn't have a name for the album and said he was opened to suggestions from the public, the only condition being that the name should have the same meaning in French AND English. Funny how he was already interacting with people long before internet existed... 😊

I found this song by complete accident one late night in April 2022 and it immediately became perhaps my favourite compositions. Everything from the ticking clock in the bridge to sheer amount of depth in the production, this song is was composed at the perfect time with the final few years before electronic instruments became digital. Honestly, a composition that is timeless and should be listened to modern musicians as why the analog age was the best age for music as the sound of digital electronic music is simply not the same. Thank you Jean Michel Jarre for writing this absolute masterpiece of electronic music.

JMJ serves as an inspiration to many, especially in the electronic music department. His albums Electronica part 1 and 2 have almost exclusively collabs with lots of (modern) artists. But yeah, this is an amazing track. The time theme throughout the album is special. If you've noticed, the album starts the same way as it ends, representing an endless loop in time.
