... talent as well, Jean. That is part of the package! My mom used to say ... ' no one can take away your talent.' She didn't do much with hers and sometimes that used to piss her off when she was doing the dishes. ..but she had a way with her room that you could happily sit in forever!

I love the block a week. It keeps me from feeling guilty for leaving my sewing machine out on the kitchen table all week. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and thank you for not editing out all the places where your thinking out loud. That helps me not be discouraged when I'm sewing. I've only been sewing for a couple of months. All of this is new to me. Thanks for making it fun and easy.

Being a crafter though, I am entranced by all the fabric colors and textures. I very much look forward to your new post each week. This week I am working on this block and last weeks block. I actually like the idea of once a week - I too would be bored to death waiting waiting waiting for a silly quilt block ~ once a month! So yes I will continue with that. I am just SO SO impressed with every bodies blocks! So you go my little plug of 'Sew'?!?!?! LOL!

well hello, so glad to see back with the living, and feeling better. Now this block has the thumbs up from me :) but, just want to say, you cant please all of the people all of the time. Some of your followers like to make difficult and some do not. Take me !!!! I like it simple and quick :/ At the moment I have 8 blocks, woooops, don't tell. I will make it up, like you mentioned the log cabin...I can make a log cabin that takes no measuring!!!! simple, that's me :/ as for e.mailing photos, I have not got round to doing this like many others but we are still here following along. I'm babling now, must get it from you LOL. The weather !!!! there is a mention of snow over easter, it has happened in the past, wait and see,
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory6 жыл бұрын
I'm going to try and show an EASY log cabin method, using a large center square and more of a scrappy method. Thanks so much for your concern...I have survived! :) The weather is still chilly but Spring is coming soon! :) Not here yet! :)

So happy you're feeling better! Personally, I love your timing. It doesn't take that long to make a block even with a busy schedule. Waiting for one per month would be torturous! Haha! As for why the pictures have been tapering off, there are probably a few reasons. One, I think it's the nature of anything that people tend to start things and not finish them. It's the same reason why the gyms are crowded in January but empty in March. Secondly, I think it's been a while since you've mentioned your website or the fact that you'd enjoy seeing block pictures; people might need a reminder of what to do. I try to take pictures of mine but sometimes Sunday comes and goes and I forget. :)

Thanks for the input! I think you are right....you die hard followers will just DO IT! I was just wondering if people were getting fed up with ME.....my word, I can understand THAT! LOL!!!

Jenny from the Missouri Star Quilt Company has written a disappearing 9 patch pattern and has done a tutorial on it. Yours is pretty cool as well. Very nice work and god bless y'all.

Jean I like your videos you're very sweet and you do the best that you know how it's very hard for an advanced quilter to go down back to the level of a beginner and so it was difficult for you to see that block as a beginner so I hope that in the future you will do one of these for intermediate because that's kind of the level I am but I am an intermediate level so yeah super super easy thanks for all you do and don't take it to heart because it was difficult for some they don't realize just how difficult it is to go backwards but having said that I am Joy doing a simple block or to make a quick quilts just for the ease of enjoying your sewing not being so worried about getting everything just right. I think having to struggle and learn all the time kind of takes the fun out of using what you've already learned so it's always nice to go back and do that sweet simple block get it all quilted and everything so you can sit back and enjoy what you have made
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory6 жыл бұрын
I think you are correct ~ I'll throw in a bit of a challenging one now and then.........beginners have to sometimes just jump in and DO IT!!! :)

beautiful Jean! I didn’t know Walmart sold charmpacks! Mine doesn’t, they sell single fat quarters I know.
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory6 жыл бұрын
Our little WarMart only sells single fat quarters, but a super WalMart down the road carries a SUPER line of pre cuts, and yardage! There solids are truly wonderful! :)

Yes the twisted table runner.I had a problem took a pressure foot off my sewing machine and the adaptor came off. I tried for days to put it on and my fingers and hands can't hold anything I was so upset. I watched videos and looked in my book. The screw that held it on was on the right. All videos showed it was on the right. I asked my husband and he got it on, screw was on the left. hE GOT IT ON SO HAPPY. wIll work on it today.

I'm loving this block! Cant wait to make it for my block for our "bock party". I want to make my sister a smaller quilt with this block..by any chance do you know the size square to start with to make a 9" block?
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory6 жыл бұрын
Oh dear...Have you been following me?!?!? If you do, you would know I am TOTALLY useless at math! I wouldn't have a clue how to 'size this block' down! So Sorry!! :/ But thank you anyway! :) Good luck finding someone who can REALLY help you!!! :)

Hola Jean que bueno que ya estás bien. Te quería pedir si se puede que cuando des un block escribas en un papel las medidas y así se puede ver en diferido . Gracias todo lo que haces es una belleza

Thinking this sampler would be perfect for a quilt as you go quilt to practice my ruler work. 🤔🤔🤔 The problem is I'm trying to finish my UFOs! My current UFO has black thread and my next in line is tan thread, and the fabric I want to use for this will use white. Hmmm, I really want to do this! Should I break out my Kenmore and have two projects going at once!!?? Oh the dilemma!!!

P. S. I love this entire video, especially the end. Made me smile 😊❤

Thank you! I don't particularly like the 'quilt as you go' method, because of the finishing up part/sashing/etc. But if you like that, then GO For it!!! :) I know....so many quilts...so little time! :) THank you for watching! :)

Silly me, I can't find you web page. Link please? I did it wrong last week, but like it. I will send a picture of my "sprocket" block. Lol I have to redo the block though, and this week is the week from hell. I am just slow on getting done; I am in it to work n it and love weekly blocks! I don't like monthly, as I would forget or lose blocks. I know me! Glad you are better! Take care sweet lady!

Jean, your scissors are attached to something?? Am I right? Teach me if you do. I have made pockets to go under my sewing machine and made it to fit my scissors.Do look at the 7/8" Ruler at Shabby Fabrics. Its really nice.
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory6 жыл бұрын
I tie my scissors to the power cord to the right of my machine with a long cord ~ even if they drop on the ground, easy to pull up the cord ~ they never go walkabout! :) I checked out that ruler ~ a super buy for under $20!!

If I decide to just make the quilt with sashing and NO BORDERS, it will end up about 58" x 76" or something like that.

Please no worries! I know you have been under the weather. Personally, I am confined to bed with a broken left leg and a broken right ankle so it will be a while before I can sew anyway! Thought I would give myself a project by writing all the information on index cards so I will be organized and ready to start all your lovely blocks. In the meantime I can enjoy your WONDERFUL AND HIGHLY ENTERTAINING tutorials! Much Love and Many Blessings.

Oh no! You don't have a leg to stand on!!!! LOL!! OH NO....Sorry about that!!! (sick sense of humor) Seriously, though, please take care! There is a nice lady who is putting the instructions down on paper but I just have to get them Onto my webpage. Anyway, until I manage that, you can always refer back to the tutorials/videos. I try to explain in as much detail as possible. Again, please take care of yourself!! How terrible!! :( Don't like this...)
