Wow Jen what a fabulous job you did on your first quilt. Sure does not look like a first quilt. When you look at my first quilt you definitely know it is my first try at quilting. Thank you! For her first quilt - even before knowing she might not LIKE quilting, I advised to get a less expensive fabric, so as not to waste any money....Jen has found out for herself that fabulous fabric quality, although a bit pricey, is well worth it! :)

I actually love the Waverly line of fabrics from WM. I buy solids by the bolt and have found them, should I dare say very similar to Kona. Beautiful job to both of you and allow them to be loved and used and spilled upon! That is what makes the memories. Hugs and love and I enjoy you both so very much!

So, maybe I did something right... I've been trying to build my skills over several years, and just now worked up nerve to ask my mother (79) for her grandmothers' and mother's handkerchiefs, to make a quilt for her to enjoy. Any tips? I thought I should use some stabilizer. Yay or nay?

I use a lightweight fusible interfacing to stabilize the hankies and then stitch them onto the block

Funny you say that...we only moved 10 minutes away, but we've kept the same pharmacy (about 20 minutes away) and it's a bit of a pain now!! So I think we'll see about one closer!! Maxwell needs his medication and it's annoying to have to drive when we have pharmacies right down the road! :)

No I don't....for the most part. Only on small placemats and table runners, did I do it just a couple of times. I find it easier on a much smaller project but not for an entire quilt.

Don’t sell! Must be handed down thru familiy and Not used in dog beds! And Never, Never, Never use them as furniture covers when Moving!!! 🥰
