Jeanne Robertson humor and perspective on life has been a special blessing in hard times. The Bataan Story was a positive influence to look at life's situation from all angles and choose my attitude. She will be greatly mised by many, but I pray the mark she left on our lives will help us continue on with humor. To Jeanne and LB's family, and close friends. May the grace and peace of God be with you. May their memory fill you with joy. Thank you for sharing Jeanne with all of us who are so blessed by her humor.

I somehow came upon this ❤wonderful human being❤quite by searching for humorous & clever presentations. I am physically disabled…having suffered a Stroke over seven years ago. Hence, I’m basically homebound & I use the Internet often to keep my mind occupied. Mrs. Robertson is just “my speed” when it comes to how she shares her life experiences. I try to keep myself in good spirits despite all & I find her way of thinking & talking immensely helpful…what a “J☺️Y!” The world truly lost a delightful treasure!😢

Great story! I married a Dawg, so I know alllll about War Eagle. And I have Roll Tide relatives. I'm a Hokie and my first encounter with Bama was a preseason game in Atlanta in 2009 where we were WINNING for 3 quarters. If only games were 3 quarters long. But we didn't prevail and had to share a MARTA ride that felt like a red tide. And those folks were SO NICE. Said how impressed they were and looked forward to a rematch again one day. FSU fans were the same way at the National Championship in 2000. Alas the shades of football past glories, but I do remember the hospitality of those two team's fans even as I ring the chapel bell in Athens from time to time. #uga #vt #housedivided

I had very different grandmothers here in Alabama than this wonderful Jeanne Robertson. Most of my family are Alabama fans, RTR!!! But strangely, almost 100% of my best friends are Auburn fans. Makes for lively game watching together! But no, we don't hug on game day either! But I'd definitely hug Jeanne if she would've let me! Wonderful lady.

This is why I wished we never left southwestern VA. Their McDonald's had things like pencil boxes not crappy little toys. But seriously my best friend was a woman named June Gordon. She taught me how to make homemade tomato juice and ketchup. Jeanne almost looks like June. Who said to me one time YOU BETTER BE SURE YOU'RE BRAIN IS IN GEAR BARB BEFORE YOU START TALKING. I miss her so much. She wanted to take me to Women's Aglow. I belonged to Beta Sigma Phi sorority. The quality and dignity that surrounded me was unlike anything Ive ever received after coming back North. I worked for a shorr time at VPI university. Ive been so lonely for decent women friendship not marred by jealousy.

Although when I did work in Agricultural engineering, the other secretary called me a yankee behind my back. I never told my husband, we are divorced now, that a grad student named Fred and I used to talk and one day he brought me in a blooming pear branch. And knew my now ex was leaving on a business trip, let me know his apartment would be free to come over. To this day I regret not going because my marriage was troubled anyway. But Fred was engaged. Thats how it usually goes for me. Perhaps if I cheated, my life would be different now. So that weekend being left alone with three dogs, I drank champagne and woke up to find three piles of poop to clean up on the living room floor.

I had another chance with a southern man from Louisiana. We met during flood work in PA after Hurrican Agnes. He had long blond hair under his Corps of Engineers helmet. I was in love but naiive. I could start my own Army with the number of men who gather round me. I am a Reiki Master. But I think there are men who have too much feminine side to them that gravitate to me because I am a strong woman. Its the football shoulders. I fix men then they get married to someone else.
@barbarabrennan17533 жыл бұрын
When Fred handed me that blossoming pear branch, I felt so cherished. Ive never felt like that again. Because at that time, my life was challenging. That simple gift uplifted my heart to a level Ive never since felt again. And the conversations we had made me blossom.

I grew up with a mother who was Auburn fan, a brother who went to Auburn for a couple of semesters, and a sister, who was an Alabama fan, She had married and moved to Tuscaloosa. My brother was also married but lived locally, my dad had died, so it was just Mama and me. We call homes like the one I grew up in a "Divided Household." I am glad that this gentleman saw the great chance he had and took you to Memphis. But, please do not make a habit of this It is risky.

During these times, hugs are more important than ever. Who wants to live if you can't hug the ones you love? The hysterical fear promoted by lies will have lasting consequences if it continues. If this were a real pandemic, doctors and nurses would not be expendable. Last year's heroes are today's unwanted. What sense does that make?

I don't get sports rivalries. Who cares what college you attended after you graduated? Yes, I am an American.
@Iflie4 жыл бұрын
I think they just do that for fun but in sports it can lead to some really bad "fans" . The police always has to be around if some teams play eachother here in the Netherlands, they will tear up the place if they win or lose, it barely has a thing to do with the teams, they don't like it either.
@auburnkim19894 жыл бұрын
Once you attend and earn a degree from Auburn, you are family. You never graduate from family. It's pretty weird and hard to explain, but also amazing. However, I will hug a Bama Fan if the moment calls for it. LOL.
