Nat Shilkret and The Victor Orchestra play a waltz named "Jeannine I Dream of Lilac Time". This lovely little melody is actually the theme of the 1928 film: "Lilac Time", a synchronized sound film that starred Colleen Moore and Gary Cooper. The film is currently in the public domain or at least seems to be, since it's free on Wikipedia. Similar to my last upload, this video also received a Content ID match that allows the video to still be uploaded. Funnily enough, the flip side of this record is also a theme to another film from the same year. One interesting note is that this song was composed by Nat Shilkret himself, with the lyrics written by L. Wolfe Gilbert.
Here is the flip side: • Out of The Dawn - Nat ...
(Also, I am using Audacity for this video and the flip side. I tinkered with the sound on both videos, so please tell me if it sounds okay to you all!)
Lyrics (Transcribed from the record):
Jeannine, I dream of lilac time
Your eyes, they gleam in lilac time
Your winning smile
And cheeks blushing like a rose
Yet all the while
You sigh when nobody knows
Jeannine, I dream of lilac time
When I return, I'll make you mine
For you and I
Our love dreams can never die
Jeannine, I dream of lilac time
