Hello Jean , my name is Retha Moore and I have always been a fan of Jenny Doan and Pat Sloan. I've watched them now for a few years never looking any farther. But one day I think it was Pat may have mentioned you or your friendship ( I don't really remember now ) but I decided to click on you one day and I have enjoyed you and Lori Holts channel as well. I will be watching all of you from now on as you all have great teaching lessons and tips for me to learn. Thank you for sharing with us on KZbin. Oh , I'm live in South Georgia out in the boonies. Wow this cushion cover has come on amazingly. I think it looks absolutely wonderful. Again wonderful tutorial clear instructions easy to follow. I have made notes as I was watching. It looks wonderful. Thank you very much for sharing this. Now to see the Third part. Absolutely adore the colours. Your video was not to long at all, there was a lot to show and it was good not rushed at all. Nothing Worse than watching a tutorial where they just rushing you all the way through. It then comes across rushed and feels uncomfortable to watch and very hard to take in. Yours was perfect. I really feel now I can go and make this, once I go and buy some Muslin , Oh and my machine comes back from its annual service hopefully tomorrow. 😀 fingers crossed.

I cannot even imagine doing all the twisting and turning for a queen size quilt - kudos to you! The resulting quilt is really breathtaking ( I can understand why Ian said he wanted you to keep it!). But I know myself, and I'd better stick to the pillow size...heh, heh.
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
You caught that, huh?!!? Yes! It involved MUCH twisting and shifting and turning and smoothing and repositioning! AAAaaarrggghhh!! But I was a glutton for punishment, and it kept on growing!! :) But the pillow size is very doable!! :)

Great pattern! 1) why not use 5" precut charms right from the start instead of cutting 4" squares 2) when sewing the curved bias seams/topstitching to reveal the polka dots...instead of doing each square one at a time, could you do continuous 'figure 8' stitching, doing one side of each square as you go down the row...then come back and do the other sides? thanks!
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
You certainly could use 5" squares ~ however your pillow/quilt would turn out MUCH larger, but then you wouldn't need as many blocks. The 'curves and circles' that are created would be bigger also! As far as the continuous stitching, I mention in the video that you COULD INDEED do that....just hop from one circle/turning to the next!! :)

Do you cut out the lumps on the queen size quilt too or just on the pillow cover? sorry if this has been asked before

ohmygoodness, you are fun. I love this. Great tutorial. I'd love to make a queen sized quilt doing this, using 5" squares. Don't know which is more lethal - trying to do the math to figure out the sizes, or actually finishing the quilt. Will have to check my wine supply to see if I have enough "support" on hand to do this...!
