I love these two blocks. Can’t wait to make them. I ordered some fabric on line and I’m waiting for it. Should be here tomorrow. I didn’t have enough scraps. Can you believe that. Lol. This has 3 color ways and I can do the rest of the blocks. It’s all yardage. Jean I’m loving all the blocks. You’ve done a great job planning them for us. They’re easy but look amazing. I’m still worried about that one. Lol. Thank you so much Jean for all you do for us.

I love that fabric, the stripes really added a lot to that block! ♥️ Nicely done, Jean! My first real quilt was a churn dash all done in blues. King size. 😨I think I made 90... 12" blocks. I took a quilting class and that's the block we were taught, so, I was off and running. My in between blocks, where your stripes are, were 3 fabrics instead of the 2 you used. I like the 2 fabric way because it goes faster.

Jean may I suggest that newbies add some non slip stickers to backs of rulers as I found they really helped me to stop slippage and keep my cutting more accurate as I have hand arthritis (or even if you don't lol). Love this block too especially the strip sets which creates endless possibilities.

My dear Jean, you can Chatty Cathy all you want and repeat, as well because we here all enjoy you and love you immensely. And, again, ignore all those nay sayers!! Today, I learned about how the churn dash block got its name from a vlogger in Toronto, Canada. I don't even think my hubby knows how that block got its name and his mom made homemade butter on the ranch where he was raised!! I will have to remember to tell him the story tomorrow!!

After watching you last year during "Jean's 2018 Block party" use the Fiskar cutter, I inquired at my local Walmart about one. They didn't have one then. I would ask every time I went to the fabric department. After a few months, they finally got one in. I immediately bought it. You are so right! That thing is wonderful! It cuts so easy. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you Jean for another 2 blocks. Due to freezing rain and/or snow this past week I never did get out to the quilt shops to see what fabrics I could use. We are to expect another snowstorm tomorrow. I was thinking I could use fat quarters and half yard cuts. I do like your red though. What was the name of the fabric line? Thanks.

Awesome blocks Jean. I'm all caught up with 2019 and up to block 8 for the 2018 quilt. You make it look so easy, but some of those blocks are tricky. Not for some, but for me, meh!! You don't suppose age, a stroke and a failing memory have anything to do with it? Jean, do you have a P.O. Box # so I can send you and Jen a wee present? I'd love to show my appreciation for your support and kindness. It means a lot!! Especially for Cheryl!! LOLOL (What a suck up, huh?) Can't wait for Sunday/Monday for the next 2 blocks for 20191! Luv ya and have a great Saturday!!
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
Aw you are sweet... but don't be bothered about sending anything and we don't have a PO box anyway :/ . So kind of you however! And don't sweat the small stuff with the blocks. If you are having difficulty, why don't you just make the easy ones (in duplicate) perhaps in other colorways. The idea is to ENJOY and not stress! And Cheryl My Elephant wants her namesake to be okay!! :)

Hi Jean I'm needing to make a ironing board cover. Do you know what kind of padding I should use? Or if you can point me in the right direction.

@reginacline8975 жыл бұрын
I've seen them but do they give a padding to use.
@jimsqueenie5 жыл бұрын
@@reginacline897 Regina, just use some of your cotton batting. Not the puffy stuff. You can use one layer or even two layers plus your cotton fabric on top. Missouri Star Quilt Company has a great tutorial for making one. Great size!! She Jenny Doan taught it, I think, the first or so year she was making her tutorials. Enjoy and good luck!!
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
Like Vicki said, use a cotton batting, perhaps two layers. Not the polyester because there COULD be the off chance of it melting under high iron temperature. You've given me an idea, however, my cover needs replacing...I'll do a tutorial on making one:) Thanks Regina:)

Hello there i am slowly coming back to sewing feeling better now i like to start your blocks soon but i was wondering and i think you done them could you show us how to do a quilt as you go love to try it once i have been looking at videos while resting but hmmm i don’t know thanks for been there
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you are feeling better. If you've watched many of my videos you will see that I don't really do (or like) the method of Quilt As You Go. I feel that the entire quilt HAS to be put together anyway at the end of the day, so one might as well learn the traditional method of basting and quilting as a whole. However, there are MANY other videos that show that method so I would encourage you to watch them if it is easier for you
