Dear Jeb and Suzanne: thank you for making it possible for me to experience every nuance of this incredible rail/scenery/gastronomic journey. Your production values and commentary are absolutely world-class. In my younger, more able-bodied days I was lucky enough to travel much of the world first class, including 17 transatlantic ocean voyages during the golden era. In my 74th year I am now severely disabled with MS and no longer have the opportunity/money to travel as I might wish. Your videos enable me to experience vicariously what would otherwise be impossible. I wish you a lifetime of great traveling and I look forward to being lucky enough to follow you on your many journeys. Godspeed, Peter

We've traveled extensively throughout our lives but only took a train trip across Ireland which was beautiful. Unfortunately my husband can't travel anymore, but if I'm alone one day I would love to grab a Grandkid or two at a time and explore some train destinations. I really enjoy your videos to see what it's like. So inviting.

Something that just a few people outside Peru know is that there is actually a quite big community of white Peruvians living in Peru, they are mainly in Lima, Arequipa, Piura and Pozuzo, ive met a lot of them, they have European descent from Spain, Italy, England, France, Germany, Poland, etc. I will give you the name of some white Peruvians so you can see it for yourself: Andrés Wiesse, our Nobel Mario Vargas Llosa, Manuel Gold, Sergio Gjurinovic, Claudio Pizarro, Olenka Zimmerman, Juliana Oxenford, etc.

Jeb That was an amazing trip !!! My wife is from Trujillo Peru and we visit often and also to Lima. I love Peru and many things you spoke about are so true, the people are so warm and friendly. The food is to die for and such a variety to choose from. I HOPE you have tried Ceviche ? My first trip I fell in love with it and now every visit I have to eat it at least once a day LOL The train was beautiful and I think we are going to have to take a trip now as you have sold me ! The scenery in Peru is breathtaking and I can't wait to go back for another visit. I will never tire of Peru ! Thanks for the video it was wonderful.

I've never seen your channel before but this was great. I visited Peru in 2009 (didn't use this train at all, though) and it always has a special place for me because the scenery is so utterly beautiful, the people lovely and the food is delicious. It's a country of wild environmental extremes from desert, to mountain, to tundra to jungle. Lima and Cusco are pretty much the only places outside of England where I've thought I could see myself living there.

Wow what a trip! I’ve been to Peru twice and I didn’t know about this train. I was at Cuzco with a train trip to Machu Picchu and a separate bus trip from Lima to Arequipa. I really enjoyed the visit to Arequipa with the scenery, the wonderful food (and chocolate) and it is called the white city for a reason. The scenery you had was incredible, I hope to make a trip next year.

The train left because it had to turn around towards Arequipa in a nearby station close to Juliaca, since it is very long it has to use a Y junction for that movement, that’s why it disappeared for a couple of hours. Peru has lovely trains indeed and as a railfan I had the opportunity to travel in some of them. Greetings from Bolivia, hope you guys visit us soon!!
