Exactly. Nobody likes being stuck in one spot in a metal tube they cannot get off with no idea what went wrong. It doesn't have to be a detailed explanation, but a brief announcement of what to expect is all most passengers need.

I'm just an economy pleb, but Delta will always be my number one for several reasons, and number 1 being service. One time on a flight from ATL-MIA we got stuck waiting for a parking spot due to a severe tropical storm that had passed and severely backed up everything in MIA that day. We were on the ground for 3 hours and all throughout the captain and crew were keeping us updated as well as handing out all the snacks they had to those who wanted them. Another scenario was that our plane got delayed somewhere else and thus they had to get a new plane, call two pilots (from their home), at 12am, which they showed up very promptly. Also to note: This was all during covid and actually within the past 3 months.

@@TheLostfoundation My wife and I fly often and we’ve been loyal to Delta for years. However, on our last adventure her parents offered to pay for the trip if they could tag along. We agreed, and they booked with American. We will NEVER make that trade again lol. First of all, compared to Delta, their iPhone app is absolute garbage and was a headache start to finish. Second, checking firearms was an absolute nightmare. They actually lost one of my firearms and sent it to the baggage claim belt. None of their staff were friendly. All of their aircraft seemed dated and poorly serviced. Their in-flight entertainment system was trash and hardly worked….etc Honestly, I think we are just spoiled on Delta and may have assumed the experience would be somewhat similar in accommodations and comfort with another big airline. 7:20 I used to work for an Internet Service Provider, a long time ago and far away. We had a "System Status" page that we systems administrators tried to keep up to date with honest information, but the Operations Manager didn't like that, fearing that, at the very least, it "makes us look bad", or, worse, could even somehow be a cause for one of our customers to sue us over a service interruption. I realize this has nothing to do with aviation, but it has everything to do with management types wanting to minimize or even hide problems and not tell customers anything, a pattern I have seen repeated over and over in various industries. If Delta break that "anti-pattern", then more power to them!

Their communication when it comes to delays is really awesome. I remember a flight years ago, where there was some technical issue. As it was a smaller plane, the captain himself came out of the cockpit, stood at the front end of the aisle, grabbed a microphone and started to explain, using analogies to car parts that people are likely more familiar with than most would be with aircraft systems. Or on another occasion, were boarding was delayed because the crew wasn't there yet. The gate agent announced that the crew was to come in on another flight which was delayed, so at the moment they were expecting to push back about 10 minutes delayed. His closing words were "I wish we could blame it on our competitors, but the delayed flight they are on is one of ours. So I guess it's on us today". Needless to say, everyone around burst out laughing.

My gratuitous advice from one who was born and lived in developing countries is: ignore the Karens! There are NO such things as First World Problems. There are merely 'problems' that have to be addressed no matter where in the world you live or whatever you're doing. Karens who constantly chime "First World Problems" are a hindrance to solutions because while they think they're injecting a sense of proportion, what they're really doing is promoting an acceptance of utter mediocrity. You are totally correct in pointing out anything that doesn't work or is substandard because acknowledging a problem is the first step to fixing it. Karens just take the lazy way out. What I don't understand is people will complain about Delta's FC/Delta One service, but a week out (before the Diamond/Platinum upgrade window opens) those cabins are still full. I am Platinum Medallion, but it was hard for me to justify DL's FC/D1 prices pre-COVID, even more so now. I really don't feel much sympathy for people who keep wasting their money on DL's "premium" service thinking it will change despite all the signs that it's still lackluster. As for me, I'll stick to the main cabin and get my nearly automatic Comfort+ upgrades. Outside of no food for purchase, it's nearly back to pre-COVID levels back there in terms of service. And hey, if I luck into first-class/Delta One, I can't complain about those snack boxes because it's at least more than I would have gotten for the seat I purchased in the back.

Last experience I had with Delta was a joke. Last February, I attempted to fly first class from RIC to MCO. It had been snowing, and I get a call in the morning that the flight scheduled for an 11:00 AM departure had been cancelled, but I was rebooked on a flight that had been scheduled to leave at 8:00 AM, but was now pushed back to a 10:30 AM departure, not a big deal. Get to the airport to check in. As I'm putting my Checked bag on the scale at the Delta desk, the attendant tells me that my flight had been canceled. I said that I knew and that we had been rebooked. She said, that the 10:30 flight had been canceled as well. I asked if there was another flight I could get rebooked on, preferably one that would get me to my connecting flight in Atlanta on time. She said that she didn't think they would be flying out of Richmond at all today. I then asked if I could get a flight out of Norfolk, and that we would just drive down there to catch the flight. She checks and says that there's a 1:30 flight out Norfolk, and that we could do that. I asked to rebook us on that one, and just like the South Park episode..."And it's gone." We needed to be in Orlando later that day. Delta couldn't get us out Richmond or Norfolk. So we go over the JetBlue desk and ask if they are flying to Orlando, and they said they had two direct flights, one of which was leaving at 11:30. I asked if the snow was a problem, they said it was not and they had just sent a plane to Ft. Lauderdale a half hour prior. So I ponied up the money for the Jet Blue Flight. On the return trip. The flight out of Orlando (going to Atlanta) was delayed an hour and half, which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Atlanta. Once we got to Atlanta we were rebooked on a later flight to RIC, but not in the first class seats we had paid for. We got to sit the back of the plane. Then after all of that, it took four hours on hold to talk to someone at Delta about getting reimbursed for the flight to Orlando which never happened, and the price difference in first class and steerage for the return trip. And then after all that, it still took two more phone calls to get everything sorted as they "forgot" to credit me with the reinbursment after the inital phone call, and then credited my brother with half the airfare even though I paid for both our flights myself. Of course in the in-flight service was pretty bad. No real food, just a bottle of water and some crackers for first class passengers. It was just terrible every step of the journey. Jet Blue was way better.

I’ve found lack of liquor and inconsistent quality of meals and service on almost every flight since last year. Very disappointing that they still haven’t returned PDB’s, hot towel services, paper menus, and full multi course service in Delta One transatlantic. In my opinion the cost is no where near warrants the results you get other than the seat that’s it. Ive been doing lots of intra European flights that offer better quality food and service than long haul Delta. I fill out the surveys Honestly and never get any response, oh well! Really enjoyed this video though many thanks @jebbrooks you are doing a great job!

Maybe covid has something to with the drop in quality?

I like your review. Maybe you should get a Chanel to review all your travels. 🤗

I'm sure the Delta service that you remember from pre 2020 will come back.

Then stop buying DL's Delta One and First Class seats. No one is forcing you to fly in first class, and airlines aren't going to do anything as long as people keep buying those seats. That's most effective survey you can give DL and other airlines. This is why I stick to main cabin as Platinum Medallion and take the free C+ seats. If I do get upgraded to FC for the price of economy, can't really complain much about a snack box when I wouldn't have gotten much in the back of the plane.

I live in Greenville South Carolina. Delta is the cheapest, and has the most flights available. Maybe it’s because I live between Charlotte and Atlanta, I don’t know. But nothing is better than Delta. As a passenger with a disability they handle it more graciously than any other airline. And they always treat me exactly the same whether I’m in first class, Delta one or if it’s a Delta connection flight that’s under an hour.

I'm a bit worried. I booked the reverse route, JFK-SEA, Delta One on a 767-300 for November. I have flown JetBlue Mint transcon and it was wonderful! I am hoping Delta can deliver and equally good experience. Just an aside, yes the Alaska Airlines SEA North Lounge is fantastic! And inflight service on Alaska never disappoints.

I hope you would like it, but in my opinion, Jetblue is the best in Domestic. By the way, how was the fly?

@@sergiolaurencio7534 The Delta ONE experience was fantastic! Though the 767 was showing its age, it was still a good product. And I appreciated using the foot flush in the lavatory. A basic concept, but innovative at the same time. Where Delta has the advantage over B6 is the Delta Sky Club offered to Delta ONE passengers. At JFK I was able to watch college football, airplane spotting, and catch up on emails. The food was good too. I stopped in the SEA Sky Club before my ride arrived. Great food, plenty of windows and very clean bathrooms. I was greeted and treated with smiles and respect by every Delta Airlines employee along my journey. Most Excellent! B6 MINT is a great product, but I give the win to Delta for the Sky Club experience. And I hope to fly the newer Delta A330NEO/A350 in the future. Happy flying!
