Made a last minute decision to drive along the Hood Canal over the 4th of July weekend. The skies weren't clear, due to haze and smoke making its way from Canadian fires, however it cleared up the next day. You know summer is almost in full swing when you can't go 5 seconds without swatting away some type of bug...
Generally I tend to lean more in favor of the North Cascades and Mt. Rainier side for car camping, knowing you will almost always having a spectacular view. (The Olympics are very beautiful, just denser forests that block a lot of views.) This trip changed my mind in a way though, and I scouted out a couple different car camping spots that I will be returning to before summer is out!
The ol' Jeep TJ seems to be fine so far on the three short trips I've taken it on since it under went frame swap surgery , sounding healthy and eager!
