What sensor does control the temp gauge? Also does this sensor tell the computer to run the electric fan? Thanks!

I cannot get mine to break loose on my 2001 Cherokee. Suggestions?

I had this same problem with my 2001 Cherokee Sport. It's easier to replace the thermostat housing completely. It's a fairly easy process, save for needing to drain and replace the coolant. It's something you'll have to upgrade anyway if you're still running with the OE housing. The OE thermostat housing for the 2000-2001 models have issues moving an adequate amount of coolant, especially when towing or in 4WD.

If this sensor goes bad will it make my temp gauge go from normal to high repetitively??
@StandardBrand6 жыл бұрын
Hi, John. Thanks for the comment. No, this is for the engine control module. The sending unit for the gauge is located elsewhere. You may have other problems though. Your best bet is to take the vehicle to a qualified repair facility and have it properly repaired.
