True, I can't imagine a puny 280 horsepower engine pulling six tons worth of steel and tires around. Its clear Jeep had no intention of people turning their car into a Frankenjeep monstrosity. Those massive wheels and added tonnage belong on a 600 hp raptor, not a g.d. tiny jeep motor

Eddie, Absolutely love the "almost" final project! Once it's complete and listening to Mel run through the mods and additions, it doesn't seem as much as when they are doing all the work. THAT was some serious work.. I had to smile when drilling a hole in the body almost brought a tear to your eye, but taking a plasma cutter to the frame was Ho Hum... LOL It looks like you could have kept the rear bed rock sliders in place? They bolt to the frame and the rear bumper, but I think you could get away without the 2 bolts connecting the rail bracket to the bumper. This might look a little better and provide some protection. I going to get one of the bed rail systems from EVO... They nailed it on design and function. The best out there at this time. Looking forward to the feedback on how it drives on the road and off... Thanks for sharing this incredible transformation with all of us!

Man that truck is epic! That stance is so perfect and it's so functional, unlike all the brodozers you see on the street, this thing can run in the desert, crawl the rocks, tow, overland, work truck, you name it, and look sexy the whole time! If you wanted to do something really trick with the spare tire, you could use the factory raise/lower thing that is mounted underneath the Jeep, on the rack. I've never actually seen the mechanical piece under the JT, but I bet you could unbolt it and relocate it to the roof rack to get that same sorta feature. Then you put the tire in the bed and attach the cable and raise it up underneath the top of the roof rack. Would make getting the spare down a whole lot easier and gives you the top of the rack back for a roof top tent or something.
@vgullotta5 жыл бұрын
oh if you do decide to do that, I would recommend lowering the tire into the bed of the truck before getting into the RTT. I'm sure the truck could handle the weight of the tire/rtt, but that plus a couple of humans might be too much weight.
