For the benefit of the other commenters here, I'm the NJ guy in the vid. Thanks a million for being such a great guide out there for us. I really feel much more confident about what the WK2 can do now and we're planning a trip west after getting a bit more experience. I've got a set of Chief Products rock rails coming, along with their heavy-duty sump guard and transmission plate. I'll probably go for the Off Road Animal front bumper in a few weeks. I got your stickers and my first-ever Badge of Honor this afternoon, and watching the video for the first time while having supper really made our day. Thanks again - What a great trip!

Not bashing your spotter because I know it's not easy BUT... You do need more spotters lol. It sounded like she did her best but didn't have HELP and it was NEEDED! I had a 07 XK Overland, now have a 2012 Jeep GC WK2 Overland. Although I haven't had her out much I must say it has impressed me. I just don't get why it's NOT TrailRated at all. I always thought all Overlands was or should be! It came with the 20's had some Nitto G2's for tires. They did good in the mud I had them in. Now for the rain? Mine were like drag slicks. I heard tons talk about the tires you run but most all reviews was about the snow wich didn't sell me. I am glad to see this video! I know the TrailHawk is a WK2 but I don't classify it as one because the TH comes with more off-road options vs a WK2. I have had 2 Hemi's, both 5.7. Both seem to stay hot this one seems WORSE. You have any info or tips? Thanks!
@ProdigalOverland4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments! We had a 2015 overland before we went to the 2018 Trailhawk. We love it. Yes the Trailhawk has the factory skid plates and the electronic limited slip differential. But the overland does well also. I have heard that some of the 5.7 hemi’s can run hot. We haven’t had issues on that though. 🤷🏼♂️

So dope! Genuinely curious if you think the air suspension is reliable? My concern is you lift it when going through a trail and it fails to work on way out. Is there a hack to prevent that possibly from happening?
@ProdigalOverland4 жыл бұрын
We have had the air suspension act up twice. Both times were when it was below freezing in the morning. I took the Jeep in to be serviced and they recharged the system. But didn't find any issues. I have never had it go out on a trail. yet..... I don't now of any hacks to prevent it from happening either.
@austinaubinoe21952 жыл бұрын
On my 2013 it was extremely reliable. The only failure I had were the little brass elbows on top of the front struts. The o rings inside dry out due to the heat of the engine. By 130k miles the front hydraulic portion of the struts were pretty much blown out. This is about the life span of a strut anyways so I was not surprised. Instead of replacing the whole system I installed a tradition spring OME lift kit. Removed the pump, struts, airbags, and rear shocks. All of the suspension components on these are the same, so it’s very straightforward. All you get is a message at startup saying to service the air suspension, but that quickly goes away. I would still order the air suspension if I bought another one new, it was a lot of fun for 8 years 130k miles.
